About this deal

He expertly walks the line being a terrifying monster whilst delivering cutting one liners with confidence and not damaging the brand or heritage in the process. A much more modern take on the Cenobites could have been fascinating and nuggets remain in the sadly recently departed Anthony Hickox’s finished film – the infamous Black Mass scene is brilliantly composed and shot and delivers one of the strongest images of the entire franchise, hinting at a glorious clash of modern intangible belief and faith in the much more tangible flesh; and the notions of modern technology clashing with the ancient powers and creating a bizarre, demonic take on biomechanics are wonderfully and intriguingly queasy…yet sadly nuggets are all they are.

Channard has struck gold after hearing Kirsty’s story and has designs to see what is beyond the trappings of the flesh and after a particularly gory scene involving a straight razor and a mattress, opens ‘THE BOX’ with the help of mute inpatient ‘Tiffany’ ( Imogen Boorman) and delves deep into the labyrinth of hell. In my opinion Hellraiser 3 is the weakest out of the first 3 movies, in fact when I first saw Hellraiser 3 upon its original release I really didn’t like it.Grain is present and resolved beautifully throughout (where the source allows of course), this being only the start of the significant improvements for the detail and colour grade of the films. We will introduce you exclusively to Newpay finance products provided by NewDay Limited under this Introducer Appointed Representative arrangement. It could be interpreted as a feminist fantasy, and thanks to Clive Barker’s writing and direction the backbone of the story is a woman. Such films as Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead II and Aliens are prime examples of horror films that dared to be different and to many, are better and more original than the first films. However if you are a sensitive person who is easily shocked, offended or frightened then you need not take this journey as it will only upset you and have a lasting negative effect on you.

The reproduction, modification, distribution, or republication of the content (including RSS feeds) without permission is strictly prohibited. In my humble opinion this is one of the weaker films in the series and you would probably enjoy one of the first 5 films a lot more than this one. The multiple timelines are solid and the central conceit of the toymaker responsible for the box and his family’s attempts to fix their mistake is deliciously fascinating.

And while this first film can be objectively looked at now as having any number of glaring imperfections – the acting, bar a demented Andrew Robinson, a disturbingly sexy Clare Higgins and Doug Bradley’s cameo aside, is bargain basement; the plot ignores any form of intricacy and does most of its characters a real disservice; that strange mid-Atlantic setting and wonky accents; while the nightmare logic of the actual and waking dream sequences (the cricket eating hobo who turns into a skeletal dragon, anyone? Following the destructive finale of the previous film, Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) awakes at The Channard Institute, a mental health facility that doesn’t always have its patients’ best interests at heart. Hellraiser IV: Bloodline sinks its hooks into past, present and future with the story of Philip LeMarchand, the 18th-century toymaker who made the lament configuration puzzle box, his descendent John Merchant – a 20th-century architect whose most recent building bears a striking resemblance to the lament configuration – and Dr Paul Merchant, a 22nd-century engineer and designer of The Minos, a space station which is a great deal more than it seems. Extras: Language(s): English, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:1.

First things first – the Leviathan documentary on the first two films that was included in the previous Scarlet Box and Trilogy set is NOT included here. There’s no doubt that the Hellraiser franchise has been diluted somewhat by a sea of inferior sequels and the loss of just about everyone associated with its beginnings in the intervening years. Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment is on 4K Ultra HD™ blu-ray from Arrow Video in both 'Limited Edition' (pictured above) and 'Arrow Exclusive Limited Edition' and will be available from the 23 rd October, and will also be available in 4K on ARROW-Player. Don’t miss this chance to see Hellraiser, described by Empire as “genuinely disturbing”, on the big screen in a 4K restoration from the original camera negatives, in all its gory and gleefully disturbing glory. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Ashe and Eric LaRocca celebrating the queerness of Hellraiser in their bedrooms on Zoom, is just really out of place, it looks terrible for such an expensive box set, I think the makers could have made more of an effort to produce something more professional (much like on HRII where Hell Was What They Wanted! Among the hours of bonus features included here is the retrospective documentary Hellraiser Evolutions, featuring archival footage of production and input from key creators like Doctor Strange's Scott Derrickson. If you missed the 4K Restoration on the big screen then never fear a special box set from Arrow Films and it is a must-have for any Horror Blu-ray collector. The special effects are magnificent, even the collector’s item of some stop motion animation (a real lost art). Also ich besitze ja schon die Studiocanal Steelbook Trilogie und die Hallraiser Black Box von Turbine, gerade die Black Box ist schon ein hingucker und gefüllt mit vielen Extras.
