The styling is unmistakably FootJoy, together with the famous FJ logo on the sides towards the heel. Others have said the white get soiled and difficult to clean, but I try not to be in places where that happens (in other words I’m in the fairways 😎).

The OrthoLite Impressions FitBed provides immediate step-in comfort that moulds to your foot over time. StratoFoam and FTF+ then combine to deliver comfort and support alongside a 100% waterproof mesh upper.Two types of added inner support provide superior walking comfort, and an integrated thermoplastic saddle wraps your foot to maintain maximum contact with the group throughout the swing to improve energy transfer.

A helpful back pull tab, like the one in the Under Armour Charged Phantom SL meant the shoe was easy to get on with little faff. I don’t need wide shoes but I have to say I’m very disappointed in these new Hyperflex shoes as I was a fan of the previous version. When I started swinging in the HyperFlex Carbon, the first thing that was immediately clear was that this is not your average knit shoe. The FootJoy HyperFlex Carbon blends elements of a knit shoe with pieces of a stability shoe to create something unique. The HyperFlex Carbon fits true to size, but if you prefer a tighter fit there is definitely room to go down half a size.The combination of the firm FTF+ midsole wrapped with a thermoplastic outsole wing enhances stability across your entire foot. Crafted from premium performance mesh with hot melt yarns for enhanced structure and support, these shoes are as durable and high-performance as they are comfortable. While both shoes do have a knit upper, this current version is solid-colored making it look less like knit. Didn’t seem to have a negative impact on traction—it was just an unusual way for the spikes to take some grass home with them. If you are on the edge of two sizes, try the extra wides as well since they will have a different geometry.

And while FootJoy’s lineup features primarily traditional designs and longtime favorites, they do like the stretch their creative wings from time to time.Overall the HyperFlex Carbon is as well-rounded a spiked golf shoe as I have had the pleasure of testing.
