This set contains 78 fully illustrated tarot cards and an accompanying 128 page book written by the wonderful Kerry Ward aka Tarot Bella. The orange and green squares behind him represent his experience of the passing of time, every day the same…same old, same old….
The artist was a resident of Christiania, a self-contained anti-establishment commune in Copenhagen in the late 1970's. after lighting a fire to his own hair, explodes in burning love to the utmost limits of extrasensory perception’. The deck seems influenced by the surreal style of Salvador Dali, who, if my memory serves, was popular at the time. A world like ours, with its heroic, historical, tragic, immortal figures but… transfigured in their cat counterparts.
You simply read the sentence formed by the three cards—the red side for action oriented questions, and the blue side for outcome oriented questions. This card of Karma shows us that cycles and changes must be respected and that everything happens for a reason. The image shows a clown with green hair wearing the traditional hat shaped like the infinity sign, coloured with the primaries red, yellow and blue. An essential characteristic of Monte’s creative approach to living is his childlike sense of wonder, playful fun, and adventure.
Most are surreal, featuring a hallucinatory blend of alien landscapes, rock stars, alcohol and circus performers. Top Characteristic: Ten of Swords – “it’s often darkest before the dawn” – good for beginners or those who have struggled connecting to the tarot before. Maybe there are national schemes for education in deprived areas or with vulnerable people you could support. While some traditional symbolism carries through on the Major Arcana (with some inspiration from the Thoth Deck), the Minors are altogether unique. The 5 of Cups is a departure from the traditional image, however the image is relevant to the meaning of the card, addressing the process of examining the self after loss or disappointment.Consider Water sign people (Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer), issues or places connected to water (be it access to fresh water, river pollution, oceanic ecology, or even local flooding), or causes linked to helping people overcome a setback, disappointment, or loss. Objects that hold meaning for her, such as strange mannequin figures in the 2 of Coins, which apparently “confirm the decay of love and affection into glassy emptiness”, are potentially meaningless to others. Some cards tell a single story, while others seem more like collages, depicting a jumble of scenes, people and objects.I have no way of knowing if this reading was accurate or not, but it did give me some peace and it made sense, based on the offense(s).
