About this deal

The same doesn't apply to the KNS 8402 and from a mixing perspective if anything there’s marginally too much bass, although this is by no means a dealbreaker. Utilizing the latest in acoustic foam technology ensures class leading performance in both reproduction and isolation. The KNS 8400s incorporate many design features that are welcome in closed-back studio 'phones, such as a detachable cable and replaceable cushions for the ears and the top of the head.

Stereo image not as good as with Beyerdynamics at least with low voltage USB audio interface without designated amp.The closed-back, circumaural (“around the ear”) design provides up to 30 dBA of isolation, which significantly reduces headphone “bleed” into the microphones when recording. As accurate as the 8400's are, their closed-back design inevitably leads to a slight boxiness and constrained quality in certain high-end sounds. I'm not a bass head and find that many headphones over-emphasize the bass, so take that into consideration. This closed-back around-the-ear design brings you closer to your music, and the highly isolated surround pads give you the freedom to immerse yourself in the sound without having your monitor mix escape into open microphones -- and keeps live instruments out of what you are monitoring. KRK KNS 8402 Studio Headphones provide an accurate listening experience in a highly durable package that is perfect for a variety of uses.

I'd also be very curious to see a frequency response chart for the 8402's; unfortunately, KRK does not offer such a chart, nor have I been able to find any private measurements online. Listening to the ProAcs, it feels as though there are live performers playing in the room, and I remember having something of this feeling listening to the NAD HP50's when they were new. Both designs are built around 40mm neodymium-based drivers with body components primarily made from impact-resistant materials. We advise you to update to a currently supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to improve your security, speed, and overall experience. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.

Voiced to remain true to the character of KRK's class leading studio monitors, developed with 25 years of years of experience in studio sound.

Though built with transparency and honest reproduction in mind, the closed back design and upgradable cable lengths make them well suited to tracking and editing, or any situation where isolation is important. Mackie MC-250 Professional Headphones The Mackie MC-250 Professional Headphones offer reference quality sound with deep, punchy bass and enhance high frequency detail perfect for mixing, studio recording, critical listening and personal listening. However, in a tracking situation where you want to be able to get your pitch and timing right, I’d say this is an ideal frequency response. My ONLY complaint is the headband, I wish the padding was more evenly distributed (to distribute the weight of the headphones) rather than designed to where it creates two distinct pressure points. Comfortable acoustic memory foam pads with premium leatherette covers provide exceptional comfort over long listening sessions.
