About this deal

If we’re honest, there will be more than just a few midges around in some west coast places, and especially in the early morning and as the sun sets in the evening. They haven’t been bitten at all, not once – It works for them and not for me, so it is unfair at this stage to say that PRODUCT X is RUBBISH.

Thanks to those fearless men and women, you can rely on Smidge to keep the beasties at bay during your next adventure. The following occur naturally in the essential oils in this product – listed here in case of allergies: myrcene, citronellal, geranyl acetate, nerol, limonene, citral. Our middle daughter regularly used Smidge and Avon Skin-So-Soft whilst in Scotland and didn’t suffer any bites. I bought this product on the basis that it was marketed as family friendly, even for pregnant women, and it does not contain DEET.

It’s SLS and Parabens free and has no animal additives nor do we (or have we ever) tested on animals. In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer. After about an hour I started to feel better and went to bed trying not to panic about something happening in the middle of the night, alone in the tent with my kids. It's not the best product ive ever used for the job but certainly the best i would use on my children or anyone with a more sensative skin type. Take on national trails, the great walks of the world, pedal long-distance paths, and achieve something great.

So as soon as I arrived in Milarrochy Bay I tried one of these products and have subsequently been bitten to hell. They were really helpful and passionate about their products, a family owned business that wanted to provide the best possible products and give informative advice to it’s users. Apply throughout the day and evening as required by spraying directly onto exposed areas of skin, taking care to avoid the eyes, mouth and palms of the hands that could cause ingestion of the product. This 100% natural spray contains essential oils known to deter annoying flying insects such as midges, bots, horse flies, black flies and face flies and can be used on horses and ponies but is also good to use on dogs. Apparently, if you are particularly appetising and sensitive to midges then some of the bites will come up into rather large blisters, so guess what I have all over my ankles?Smidge That Midge One of the most highly acclaimed midge repellents, it comes as a pump spray and claims to be water and sweat resisting formula with “immediate protection for up to eight hours without re-application”. Pyramid also have a ECOGUARD fabric spray for repelling insects, ideal for backpacks and apparently tents.
