About this deal

The universal literary and cinematic theme of 'the journey' present in Brother Bear is a part that works. I think it was the 'realness' of the animals (which, like in Lion King, move like the real species) combined with action right from the beginning. The print is flawless in terms of dirt and scratches and the image for the most part is nice and sharp with lines looking detailed.

Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis provide a few welcome moments of humor as a pair of Canadian moose who sound more than a little like their Strange Brew characters Bob and Doug McKenzie. As the transfer is enhanced for 16:9 televisions, the first 24 ½ minutes are windowboxed within the anamorphic frame, resulting in a picture that's surrounded on all four sides by the 'black bars,' no matted what kind of TV you're watching it on. The one remaining human brother Denahi, seeks to track down the bear (who is actually Kenai) that he thinks is responsible for both of his siblings' deaths. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. This transformation tale of viewing events and conditions through different perspectives is an entertaining film experience. Brother Bear also marks, if not the end of an era, at least an interruption, as Disney famously closed its Florida animation studio after completing the production. Story didnt grab me at the begining but unfolded slowly into a very good movie with laughs coming mainly from the two dopey moose. Kenai’s granny is connected enough to the rave in the sky to know that the boy has been turned into a bear but seemingly forgets to tell the boy’s brother, Denahi (Jason Raize), about the transformation. Moving on we have a number of music videos, a feature on Phil Collins and the score, a 45minute making of which covers most angles and trailers.

Why I hear you scream, well it has to do with the story of the film and the main character, when he is transformed into a bear his vision changes, hence the wider ratio and more colourful image, it symbolises the characters change and that he is looking at the world and his life differently.Among those who appear are directors Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker, producer Chuck Williams, Roy Disney, Joaquin Phoenix, Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Dave Thomas, and Rick Moranis. The "family friendly" version (bad name) is actually cropped to cut edges of the film off so it fits in your TV screen dimensions. does mean the film has been cropped from its original aspect ratio, as opposed to Disney's normal use of the term. The pair's past friendship collides with the present as Kenai and Nita embark on a journey as bear and woman. However I found a real gem for the adults and I haven't laughed as much in a long time at such an entertaining commentary track than the one found here.

Now, brother hunts brother and Kenai's only hope for survival is to befriend his own worst enemy, a grizzly cub named Koda. I've never been a Phil Collins fan, but 'On My Way' was a good tune and the story was very strong and very well animated. The aspect ratio shift comes at the moment of transformation, when Kenai's perspective of the world changes.Confession" employs preliminary black-and-white animation and provides an alternate to the film's existing "No Way Out" scene between Kenai and Koda. If I was unable/unwilling to do so, I certainly wasn't going to inflict what should be a gift to kids.

Having watched the latter version, I believe that I remember black bars appearing above and below the picture for the "bear" part- switched from full screen to widescreen at that point. The directors finally gave into their co-workers who said it wasn't working, and Kenai's new travel companion became the younger Koda. In "Bone Puzzle", you select from a pallette of uniquely-shaped bones to fill in the prints of various animals. The clips here are a bit entertaining; they don't seem like a complete retread of the jokes that Pixar's already done.

However vile and mundane Brother Bear may be, it actually demands to be seen in its original widescreen: after 20-odd minutes (precisely when Kenai turns into a bear), the film’s aspect ratio expands. The three sequences and introduction from the two directors run 11 minutes and 5 seconds altogether with a "Play All" function. Kenai (Joaquin Phoenix) is a boy who longs to become a man but must learn a valuable lesson before he can achieve the maturity it requires. You can choose to listen to the commentary with visuals or without; with the former selected, you occassionally get to see well-done silhouettes of the moose.
