i just concreted a little circle around my bird feeder, and let the ground feeding birds eat them all up. We would recommend trying our Pigeon seed tray adaptor which increases the distance between the feeder and the tray, ensuring pigeons cannot reach the feeder ports. Whilst it is to narrow for them to comfortably sit on, they balance on the edge of it and flap their wings continuously. Our feeder trays are compatible with the CJ Wildlife Challenger, Defender, Apollo, Adventurer and Conqueror feeders.

I bought this to attach to the bottom of the seed feeder to catch the bits of seeds the finches, tits and sparrows drop. Bird feeder seed trays provide birds with perching room while feeding, and also help catch seed that falls from feeder ports.Wild birds know what they like and when you offer a blend of wild bird seeds and grains they tend to just drop what they don’t want. It’s less of an issue with feeders which have round perches rather than straight, as species such as Robin can stand on these. The tray has a lovely wide base and robins love to stand in them and eat as do collared doves and sparrows!

If you are feeding birds sunflower seeds in their shells, you might eventually end up with an unsightly amount of hulls on the ground under your feeder.

If it rains, the hulls or seeds in the feeder may become a breeding ground for bacteria, potentially spread diseases to birds.

Exactly like previous reviewer Chris, I have found the pigeons have launched a take-over bid by means of the seed tray. The only other point to note is that it’s super-important to keep the tray clean to prevent harmful bacteria taking hold in the seed waste.The trays also remove together with the feeder base in a single twist when used with Ring-Pull, Flo Lifetime and Flo Festival feeders.
