Cons: the Black Pearl has easement for 6 Cannons - yet the set comes with 2 (Fully functioning cannons- watch your eyes! I didn't compare the two because I did not want to turn the review into me ranting about lack of cannons and details etc. Complete with six LEGO mini-figure characters from the films, the Black Pearl set is recommended for LEGO builders ages 8 to 14. While Connor is pleased with the realism I have to admit I think it could be a bit longer, and not sit quite so low in the “water”.

Im surprised TLG waited this long to release it, as it would have sold better earlier I think, and it seems a tad early for a Holiday release.

Like what has been pointed out on other reviews - this set may not be best suited for very young Lego builders - an adult may need to be present. Honestly, the Pearl is like a pimp version of the Renagade Runner if that gives you all a better idea.

This is the rewritten version of the original review that we posted in the now deleted Facebook Page. Of course this was in that confusing, clusterfrak of a movie Pirates of the Carbibbean At World’s End, so I could be mistaken. If I’m not mistaken this is a version of Jack we haven’t seen before with a combination of a printed overcoat and no hat. The set develops fine motor movement, and spatial awareness in the building - and massively builds confidence in the achievement of having completed it. This review is from two perspectives: The jaded, overly critical analysis of a long time LEGO enthusiast, and mine.
