About this deal
It is also tall enough that I can enter and exit by stooping which is more dignified than going on your hands and knees. I took the advice of others and left the inner tent in place when I dismantled the tent for the first time. The inner porch floor covering has a couple of small holes but this does not impact in the tent in any way. The three door openings mean you can change the entrance round if the wind/rain changes direction and the poles included can be used to make the front door into an awning.
I previously used a very cheap, smaller, pop-up tent which was boderline acceptable and this is a great improvement. When you close all its doors, you are fully protected, see how it looks: Full protection under the fly. About the only thing I could fault it for is not having a loop to hang a light at the top of the inner. The inner bedroom pod can be left in place when the tent is put away, which makes it quicker to erect the next time you use it. Its first outing was a wet week in Wales, immediately followed by a second, even wetter week in Cornwall, all without a sign of a leak or condensation (the tent that is, not me).put together the main poles and insert then in the two sleeves, the end of the poles need to go in the eyelets on the fabric that goes under the ground sheet. In retrospect, it probably didnt save time, as re-attaching and checking each hook took as long as fitting from scratch. I used it for the first time in August last year on a walking trip to Yorkshire and despite the heavy rain we were warm and dry although I did get a little water in the porch because of the design (the sides of the porch are a couple of inches off the ground) it was no problem as all my gear was nice and dry inside.
However, we learnt from our first experience that we will have to fold in the porch ground sheet as we woke up to a huge puddle. On day 2 one of the rear rods shredded in strongish wind but most of the 200 other tents nearby were fine. Besides that little mishap, it is very waterproof - the water beads off and we didn't have any condensation in the morning.
This may be convenient in the camp if the space is limited and you are forced to use one side or another, or if the rain changes direction you can use the one that is less exposed to the wind. Retailer claims it's all outside of the warranty but offered to send me a replacement rod if I pay the postage.
