The box was impressive, highlighting the quality of the chocolate within, no thin cardboard boxes here. caramel-milk chocolate, and one made of 40% milk chocolate with cookies and puffed rice - are a mix of milk, dark, white and caramel chocolate delights. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to Easter eggs, but Cadbury might have made our decision for us this year after announcing the release of a giant easter egg with a ‘chunky’ shell.

It's decorated with Baileys chocolate along with fudge, chocolate buttons and salted caramel crispies. Chococo eggs are always beautifully finished as well, making this a lovely gift for a vegan pal, if you can manage not to eat it before you give it away. Side one is a 66% cacao Madagascan Sambirano Valley chocolate, and side two is a darker, beefier, 82% cacao Ecuadorian Hacienda Iara chocolate – a longstanding Hotel Chocolat favourite. The outer shell was very lightly spiced however the truffle was much spicier really opening up all the flavours.Each half of the extra thick shell, is a different type of dark chocolate, one being 66% Sambirano Valley Dark Chocolate from Madagascar and the second being 82% Hacienda Iara Dark from Ecuador. This 650g egg is cast in Thornton's house milk chocolate recipe and boasts a design based on the Thorntons logo.

Inside, you'll discover 12 mellow alcohol-free egglets which have been filled with tangy fruits, smooth pralines, molten caramels and other delights.
