I’ve heard a lot of what’s said in here before, and while it’s important to keep pushing these topics until something’s sorted, I was hoping for something more (hence my main interest coming from the intersectionality of this book).

This book was divided into sections to focus on certain elements of the journey of feminism: epiphany; anger; joy; poetry; action; education; and further reading.My main issue with this book is the feminism espoused by many of the entries is extremely individualistic: how they have been impacted by sexism and how they've been liberated by feminism. But it's very much Feminism 101, and even though I fully believe being an inclusive feminist is an ongoing process, this book was a little too basic for me at times. Often funny, sometimes surprising, and always inspiring, this book aims to bridge the gap between the feminist hashtag and the scholarly text by giving women the space to explain how they actually feel about feminism. Readers beginning their feminist journey will find Claire Horn’s ‘A Short History of Feminist Theory’ especially useful, summarising as it does the movement’s origins, multi-stranded history and contemporary incarnations. Pick it up and read one story from your favourite columnist or actress, but I guarantee you'll end up reading the full, illuminating collection, and you'll possibly finish it knowing more about your own personal stance than you imagined. but i do have to say that this book didn’t do enough for me personally since all it did was share a short little moment of the person. How do we raise a new generation and secure a prejudice free future, eradicating abuse, inequality and toxic masculinity? If you're going to speak from that place of authority, you should know what you're talking about and what you're contributing to the conversation ( especially if you're going to sell it for GBP 12.

Feminists Don’t Wear Pink carries such a valuable sentiment; it’s a fairly decent crash course in feminism; it’s so energetic. A book of honourable intentions, but I’d recommend Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche’s Dear Ijeawele for highly practical feminist advice.
