Hounds of Love is of course Bush's most famous single, and her second most famous single, 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' as mentioned above, also makes it onto this album, proving why it is deserving of the classic status it has long held. It is in these moments that Bush's essential qualities, not to mention her genius, are truly unfettered, unveiled and realized, which goes some way to explaining the album's enduring popularity.

To the Nattering Naybobs of Negativity, I say there are those who will happily snap up these limited edition art pieces, and there are those who won’t.As a result of this promotional push and greater sophistication, Bush gained more exposure and expanded her audience. In 1985, when MTV was reaching the peak of its viewership and veteran British acts were suddenly experiencing more pressure to adapt and take new directions, she finally broke the notoriously imperious American market. I know that some Bush fans will argue Kate isn't pop, and is more alternative/art-rock/avant-garde and whatnot. So overall the second half of this album (the concept side) is beautiful, but the first 5 tracks don't sit as well together as they do on much earlier CDs, including the late 90s remaster (which had the album mix plus several bonuses). Kate Bush has delivered on her promise of ‘special presentations’ of her classic 1985 album Hounds of Love with three new editions, none of which offers any new audio.

That track, and Ninth Wave opus, sound great on this remastered cd, particularly the latter, which seems more enveloping now.

It’s very exciting to see the resurgence of appreciation for the physical presence of albums released on vinyl.
