About this deal

But whilst the first book was special because of being so relatable when you are in your forties, this one now is a bit more classic chick-lit. Yorkshire born and raised, Alexandra lived for several years in LA before settling in London with her Californian husband and their Bosnian rescue dog. A funny, feisty tale about the highs and the oh-so-lows of having to start over in your forties with a smart, sassy character at its heart who you'll be cheering on from start to finish. I doubt there are many who could answer in the affirmative but that’s what makes it such a big adventure.

Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. Life, like us, is a sum of moving parts, and if we’re lucky, we get to keep f**king up, figuring it out and laughing in the face of it all. From that late urge to want motherhood to dealing with the beginnings of Perimenopause, friendships becoming fragile as everyone is dealing with their own issues and realising you might not actually have it all together, despite being closer to 50 than before. This audio edition is brilliantly and hilariously read by Sally Phillips, known for her performances in Bridget Jones's Diary and Smack the Pony .

Although creating your own coffin… maybe I’d pass on that 😂 This sequel to Confessions of a forty-something f**k up did not disappoint! The story takes us through Nell's ups and downs, from her eccentric group of friends to her intriguing relationship with Edward, the boyfriend who maintains spreadsheets for everything. As Nell navigates the complexities of love, friendship, and self-discovery, I found myself nodding in agreement, pausing to reflect on my own life and decisions. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.Nell has to navigate choppy waters during these twelve months, with one friend seriously unwell, ‘you can’t worry someone well’, says Cricket wisely; another contemplating divorce – oh, and another. She now lives in London with her husband – though often visits her mother in the Yorkshire Dales – and has had 12 previous books published. Everyone no matter what age you are needs to read this because it's true and we don't always feel like we have our shot together. Thankfully Nell has Cricket by her side to help her through as well as her friends, but they're each dealing with their own issues.

Now Alexandra Potter, the Bradford-born author behind Confessions of a Forty-Something **** Up is preparing to bring out its sequel. No old lady hair’ should have been included in our wedding vows as my husband has made me promise this on numerous occasions. Finally they can gather at each other's houses with no restrictions, they can go to the pub and enjoy a drink and they can even have weddings again! I enjoyed the main characters in this book, especially Cricket, Nell's octogenarian best friend, who definitely doesn't act her age and doesnt care what others think!

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. When you love a book, as I did with the first one, there's always a worry that a sequel won't live up to it. And who is desperately trying to figure it all out when everyone around them is making gluten-free brownies. Having spent a large amount of her time alone in her flat, she's looking forward to being able to get out and about again with her boyfriend, Edward, and her friends. Synopsis (It's a fiction book, so it helps…from Netgalley, the provider of the book for me to review.
