About this deal

Description: Following the success of her breakout poem, "B," Sarah Kay releases her debut collection of poetry featuring work from the first decade of her career. I'm sad to say I didn't really enjoy this poetry collection, specially since everyone who's read this seems to love it.

Maybe the next time you see love is twenty years after the divorce, love is older now, but just as beautiful as you remembered.Summary: Following the success of her breakout poem, "B," Sarah Kay releases her debut collection of poetry featuring work from the first decade of her career.

With freshness and wisdom, Kay's poetic voyage invites readers to embark on a soul-stirring journey of self-discovery and exploration of the world around her.Poets as such are few and far between, and if this is what Sarah Kay has to offer in her 20’s I cannot begin to imagine what her life long career and future works will be like.

No Matter the Wreckage presents readers with new and beloved work that showcases Kay's knack for celebrating family, love, travel, history, and unlikely love affairs between inanimate objects ("Toothbrush to the Bicycle Tire"), among other curious topics. No Matter the Wreckage invites readers to revel in both new and beloved works, showcasing Kay's remarkable ability to celebrate the essence of family, love, travel, history, and even peculiar romances between inanimate objects ("Toothbrush to the Bicycle Tire") with eloquence and charm. A decade’s worth of writing about family, love, and the importance of “never let[ting] gravity become too familiar. On the whole they have been good with a few outstanding poems but I haven't been left feeling a sense of loss at the end or a sense of longing to read more, much more. I'm not sure if I'll pick up more from this author if this is her usual style, and don't reccommend this if you want to read something more lyrical, as I did.A number of the poems in the book can be found presented on YouTube, though many are being introduced to the world for the first time here on paper. Building on the triumph of her acclaimed poem, "B," Sarah Kay unveils her debut poetry collection, a compilation of pieces spanning her first decade as a poet. It is like watching a really good film, and then reading the book and taking a slightly different experience away with it, like reading Lord of the Rings after watching the film, and still enjoying the book afterwards.

Both fresh and wise, Kay’s poetry allows readers to join in on her journey of discovering herself and the world around her.Even though Sarah Kay has established quite the fan base on Goodreads and on the web, I just could not connect with these poems on a deeper level - perhaps because poetry has never been my genre of choice. Both fresh and wise, Kay's poetry allows readers to join in on her journey of discovering herself and the world around her. In No Matter the Wreckage , Sarah Kay takes you on a profound journey through her self-discovery in New York.
