About this deal

Tasked with rescuing the daughter of one of America's richest families from the grips of a sinister cult, Nick Stone expects his latest mission to be quick and straightforward. But this comes over as a mess, when Stone thinks about himself, there is no mention of the family and money we have seen in the previous books. With both author and hero getting on in the years, it's time to bow out, and that's just what they do. During the Gulf War he commanded Bravo Two Zero, a patrol that, in the words of his commanding officer, 'will remain in regimental history for ever'.

Having read all of the Nick Stone series from Andy McNab this novel gives a suitable end to that series but still leaves an opening for another Nick Stone novel to be created. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. honestly, it is a book full of blablabla, some old pals which resemble his last sort of family, NO mentioning of any of his former life or adventures, NO considerable action, no nothing, if it is not the last nick stone novel (as promised within the book), it definitely will be the lasts for me. Its the last in the Nick Stone series and AM has written it like that too, almost as if he couldnt be bothered to think up a decent enough plot line to pension Nick off.But there are deadly complications—not least that Nick soon discovers himself at the heart of a chilling cyber conspiracy that threatens war with Russia and the very existence of the Western alliance. Part of the problem is that she may not want to be rescued and the group do not seem cult like at all. What he didn’t expect is to have a journey, an internal one, when he has the environment to think through his life and what he really cares about in life. Immediate Action, McNab's autobiography, spent 18 weeks at the top of the bestseller lists following the lifting on an ex-parte injunction granted to the Ministry of Defence in September 1995.

Andy McNab has written about his experiences in the SAS in two bestselling books, Bravo Two Zero (1993) and Immediate Action (1995). As well as several non-fiction bestsellers including Bravo Two Zero , the biggest selling British work of military history, he is the author of the best-selling Nick Stone and Tom Buckingham thrillers. A sinister cult Tasked with rescuing the daughter of one of America's richest families from the grips of a sinister cult, Nick Stone expects his latest mission to be quick and straightforward. The final Nick Stone adventure is more of the same, which I've always enjoyed, but here it feels oddly tepid. having read mcnab's non-fiction books as well as the entire nick stone series more than twice, this latest novel is a new low in a considerable line of lacking suspense, credibility or anything else that could make a book worthwhile to read. The CD spoken word version of Bravo Two Zero, narrated by McNab, sold over 60,000 copies and earned a silver disc.

We do get more a peek into his thought processes, and a decent fistful of the major mistakes, brutal action, and excessive personal damage that are the namesake protagonist's trademark. In Northern Ireland he spent two years working as an undercover operator with 14th Intelligence Group, going on to become an instructor. This is the final novel in the long running Nick Stone series which began way back in 1998 and drew heavily on the author’s own knowledge and experience of Special Forces soldiering.I guess author McNab has done just about everything he can with this character in a series starting back in 1998. and that following a shocking diagnosis his body is failing him fast, and any day now he will have to ask himself the ultimate question.

A shame the series has to come to an end, but alas all good things must, and at least it’s gone out with a bang not a whimper.
