About this deal

Remember when you were reading an amazing manga and turned to a black page, you realized that was the time for an epic flashback backstory for the favourite character your love. The artist also draws lively facial expressions and narrates actions with good anatomy and composition. When a morally questionable rescue transforms him into the first half-human half-Ghoul hybrid, Ken is drawn into the dark and violent world of Ghouls, which exists alongside our own. It is a good and original idea, but the lack of skill and tact creates more laughable scenarios than dramatic ones.

Like many others here, I got recommended this by the henti man, and since I wanted to practice my japanese I gave it a go. You will get every violent combination with these kinds of characters, who are quite not innocent as they may appear at first. A group of very different people wake up together in the sealed environment of an abandoned school building. point where its comical but you can't reasonably expect all the characters to be like those in a shonen or romance/shoujo/josei manga where all the MC are perfect and you just have about 100 chapters of circling around the plot instead of developing it. somethings happen that made me quite confused as to WHY a character did some stupid ass thing, this happens enough to make me slightly annoyed and seemed like a just a bunch of reasons to have some characters fight each other. It makes the story more dynamic, and I can also see how people could go crazier when facing this type of situation. Neither does it matters that the whole value of this manga is to shock the reader more and more with each chapter.

It is not that they are not enjoyable if this is your kind of story, but you can tell it is more a result of a happy accident because the author really tries to be deep and denounce almost any questionable behavior you can find in our modern society. His father suddenly commits suicide, his mother joins a cult and bankrupts the family, then his beloved sister is given a year to live. Which is why you shouldn’t read too many review first because what the hell do we know about YOUR taste.

The reason why it's scored the way it is, is because although I believe that this series is underrated, I won't deny that it lacks in various aspects. As other reviews already mention, this is not for the faint of heart and those who've had terrible and traumatic experiences but for those willing to barrel through those anyway, it really picks up at about chapter 20 onwards and I think at this point, you'll start forgetting the gore and focus more on the plot. The pacing is also really nice but the developments are a bit scuffed, it feels like they only introduce character context and background when it's convenient while ignoring it the rest of the time.

However, it goes way to quick, the characters break down way to quick for what the title references, people die way to quick. Apparently there is no English translation of the whole Manga, so I don’t know how people are reviewing this who speak only English…but again, even though it’s not a very original concept with mediocre art, I’d still recommend it, but without hyping it as much as Joey did.I kid you not when I tell you this manga is pretty much perfectly legible no matter what language you might speak. The ideas of every day people being challenged with their morals and being forced to adapt to a situation they never thought would happen to. This manga is definitely not for the faint of heart, if you can't stomach gore and taboo subjects (and I mean severely taboo) then I don't recommend you read it.

No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, and no underlining/highlighting of text or writing in the margins. When they stumble upon a hot pot and cleaver in an upstairs classroom, they immediately suspect that their captors intend for them to kill and consume each other to survive. Among the group are college-goers Yumi and Reiji, cabaret performer Akane, occultist salaryman Yukitoshi, factory worker Toshio of punk persuasion, unemployed Taichi, and nine-year-old Michika. There is also a timer in the main room that counts down to 7 days, and there is also a room with a cooker and a butcher knife. my personal recommendation skip this at least until it gets fully translated and check out Elfen lied and Another they are much better or experiences and are worth your time.It HAS some redeeming qualities (the MC not being as pathetic), but at the end of the day, I just did not like this series. The characters in this survival situation are randomly chosen individuals, each with diverse backgrounds that make them valuable additions to the group's efforts to survive and progress the story. The centre piece of any manga is its cast of characters that drives the plot and draws the audience into it. He’s just a blank slate and honestly I start to hate him more the further I get in to the story because he just keeps getting worse as a character not that there was much character to begin with. A short plot summary about the manga “Doku Mushi” would help many anime and manga fans decide whether they want to watch this show or not.
