About this deal

On the flip side, I personally didn’t like the proprietary battery a little. I understand it brings branded value and longevity too. But replacements and repair requirements can be a little difficult. The Nitecore P23i is the new memeber of the i-generation flashlight from Nitecore. Developed for the most dire tactical situations, with a max output of 3000 lumens. And with an illuminating range up to 470 meters, the P23i is the ideal light for police members, search and rescue, assault operation and self defense. With e-peak beam intensity of 55’300 Cd, it will illuminate far more than its competitors, thanks to the improved output and throw capabilities of the SFT-70 LED emitter. It’s now Strobe Ready ! Remember that this typically happens with extremely cold temperatures (winter) and scorching and humid environments (summer).

While that customization is helpful, that does make the battery proprietary. You must use the NL2150HPi with the P23i; it will not work with a standard 21700. Thankfully, the P23i has onboard USB-C charging, so you don’t necessarily need to buy a new charger to recharge it. If you are a heavy user of your lights and you go through multiple batteries in one session, you would need to buy more batteries and likely a charger, as it takes over four hours to charge via the on-board charging. That’s a long charge. Big bright flashlight. Had to read the instructions to figure out where the mode switch is. Prefer it on the side. The P23i is specially designed for tactical applications such as night searching and distinguishing targets. The dual tail switch design provides a tactical tail button with momentary-on, constant - on and a mode button with output adjustment and the ability to instantly access strobe. The U-shape tail cap also helps prevent accidental operation while being carried and can also be used to attach the included wrist lanyard. Made of aluminum, bright, and waterproof, can take some drops and can blind someone, and many will call that tactical. Designed for tactical applications, the P23i has some of the same great features as the other i series such as a crenelated strike bezel that has strengthened tips with hard silicon nitride ceramics to enable excellent glass breaking performance and the upgraded 2nd generation Strobe Ready™ dual button interface. Additionally it has U shaped tail design which not only helps prevent accidental activation, but also allows for lanyard easy attachment and tail stand capability. With turbo, high, medium, low, and ultralow modes, you can easily choose the right brightness level for your needs. The Nitecore P23i flashlight is designed to ensure the user can insert the battery without worrying about the direction. For any enthusiasts that are still around and want details, here’s what my Opple Light Master Pro showed. Mode

The SFT70 only comes in low CRI, high CCT (this light uses 6500K), but the P23i isn’t about enthusiast-quality light. Those are entirely different categories of light. The P23i is about quantity, and getting it downrange, which the SFT70 does quite well. You can see that in the measurements below. The beam is very white without any green and even has negative DUV on turbo. Nitecore has released the P23i, a long-range tactical flashlight that uses a single 21700 cell. And it’s “strobe ready!” Read on for testing! EASY ONE HANDED OPERATIO - No complex twisting, brightness can be changed with just one thumb. Press and hold the mode switch for strobe or cycle through the 4 brightness levels with short presses when the light is turned on.But for sure, it only takes less than 4 hours to charge fully. I recommend using the USB-C charging cable given by Nitecore to charge it safely. The covered charging port definitely ensures safety. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms.In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation Nitecore has been making lights for professional operators for years. Over 15 different international agencies have Nitecore as their standard issue. So they know exactly how their lights are used, the increasing challenges that operators on the ground face and what's expected of future gear. After all, for this price tag, you also receive the premium limited lifetime warranty by Nitecore. This means that Nitecore will cover labor costs and maintenance without replacement parts or accessories. The Nitecore P23i tactical flashlight features an all new Luminus SFT-70 LED for improved brightness and long range lighting. The torch boasts an impressive output of 3000 lumens and a maximum beam distance of 470 meters.

The torch has Nitecore's 2nd generation Strobe Ready technology with instant access to strobe mode with an inset mode switch to avoid accidental activation. The output has a randomly changing frequency between 16Hz and 20Hz, for emergency use. The tactical U-shaped tail cap also offers tail stand capability and can be used with a wrist lanyard (included). The lighting modes are AMAZINGLY bright and long throws, and you can visibly see the difference in the brightness gap; Luminus SFT 70 LED magic. In addition to the tactical mode which offers four brightness levels and strobe mode, daily mode can be used which provides the full five brightness levels ranging from 50 to 3000 lumens, plus strobe.Below are a few runtime tests. I didn’t see the claimed 3000 lumens, but because of the strike (ish) bezel, some lumens were undoubtedly lost. Still, performance is good, especially when we’re considering the lower modes (such as “Mid”) where output is steady for three hours or so at around 650 lumens. They also advertise that it’s compatible with a number of weapon mounts and other separate accessories, but those are not covered here.
