About this deal

It’s very important to thoroughly shake the pot with the ball bearings rattling before each and every use. Do not add water into the paint pot, it’s best tip a little paint into a separate pot and then add small amounts of water. A different rust effect is obtained depending on whether a soft or stiff brush used to apply the paint. Dirty Down Rust is not a strong coloured spray, we’ve made the colour gentle so that it does not overpower other colours. A simple step by step on using the Rust Effect, from a completely clean set of cutlery to a perfectly rusted set of cutlery.

Whilst it is simple you can be quite accurate with this and it does actually yield some really great effects. For a patchy effect dab the paint onto a surface and keep dabbing in the same place until the paint dries. Before use: Thoroughly shake the pot with the ball bearing rattling and t horoughly stir inside the pot with an old brush until all the lumps are gone.Smearing is easier when the spray is still wet, but is also possible after the spray has fully dried. A little from an open pot isn’t going to do you much damage, but spraying aerosolised solvents around is a good way to put yourself in hospital! To fill dents and grooves in surfaces, first cover the surface with paint, and then wipe the paint off the raised areas with a damp cloth (at an angle to the grooves), leaving some of the paint trapped. Our paint is water soluble and the effects of painting will be lost by washing in water or handling with wet hands. Further variations in shade can be created by dabbing a damp or wet brush, cloth or tissue onto the painted surface and then leaving to dry. Our ageing sprays are water soluble and the effects of spraying will be lost by washing in water, but there may still be staining. Tip: keep the pot in your pocket against your skin for an hour before use and shake regularly with the ball bearing rattling. The dark coloured liquid dries to a high matt rust colour in 1 to 5 minutes depending on the temperature.

NOTE: You may be required to pay additional Taxes/Duties to your local Government when the goods arrive into your country. More rust paint can be removed if desired, so that only the smallest amounts are left trapped in grooves and indents. and a love of fast, effective techniques I picked up a bottle of Dirty Down Rust and went straight to YouTube.I only tried a little of this but it definitely worked and with more time and effort you could get some great results. The paint is spraying easily with no clogging or other issues, and the early colour impression looks, well, rusty!

Using the airbrush seems to give you a result that’s more of a flat orange than a varied rust pattern, though going back afterwards with a brush you can change this. To fill dents and grooves in surfaces, first cover the surface with rust paint, and then wipe the paint off the raised areas with a damp cloth (at an angle to the grooves), leaving some of the paint trapped. After a quick pass I went back and tried a much heavier spray, to see if the dried results were any different.

Starting your painting this way ensures the steel will be seen through the rust later, and your end effect will look more realistic.
