The meter lights farther toward the left as the pitch gets flatter, or farther toward the right as the pitch gets sharper. It’s also about the right size. The foot switch is comfortable to use, and there’s no mistaking whether you’re pressing it or not. A battery is supplied with the unit. The life of this battery may be limited, however, since its primary purpose was to enable testing. Main Features One the right, you have a button labeled as Mode. This is for switching between chromatic, guitar, and bass tuning. In between these, you also get your flat tunings. All very self-explanatory and simple to use. A: The TU-3 is the current ‘standard’ Boss pedal tuner. The TU-3w is the Waza Special edition and features even brighter LEDs, plus a much higher spec internal buffer. All Boss pedals include FET switching, and with players adding high-spec audiophile grade buffers to their boards these days, Boss have made the TU-3w to combine two utility pedals into one and save us all a bit of pedal board space. The TU-3s is smaller and switchless, it's great as a bench tuner for techs or on pedalboards with volume pedals that have a bypass output. Essentially it's a space saver for people that don't require tuner switching.

We recommend that you keep batteries installed in the unit even if you'll be powering it with the AC adaptor. That way, you'll be able to continue a performance even if the cord of the AC adaptor gets accidently disconnected from the unit.
