NAES Corporation was contracted for the operation and maintenance services of the combined-cycle power plant. The grid-scale battery will be assembled in Scotland, at Invinity’s factory in Bathgate, West Lothian. The electricity generated by the Hill Top Energy Centre will be evacuated through a 4.83km 500kV power transmission line connecting the Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland (PJM) transmission network. Honey has a unique carbohydrate composition of natural sugars and antioxidants, enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids. The 30 MWh system power battery system will be capable of delivering more than 7 MW of power on demand and able to store enough energy to power 2,500 homes for over two hours.

The plant will also house a 42 MMBtu/hr natural gas-fired auxiliary boiler to provide high-temperature steam during start-ups and shutdowns. A 6.4 MMBtu/hr flue gas heater will be provided to condition the natural gas, preventing it from condensation. The 625-MW Hill Top Energy Center is still expected to go online this summer despite the workforce challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kiewit Constructions was engaged as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the project while General Electric (GE) was selected for the supply, installation, along with a multi-year services agreement for the turbines and generators of the facility in May 2019. The HRSG assembly will be fitted with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to minimise nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and oxidation catalysts to control carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from the combustion turbine (CT) and duct burners.

Dr. Jamie Pugh of Liverpool James Moore University is conducting a long term study to compare the benefits of natural ingredients for energy v man made. The study compares breath and blood samples before, during and after exercise to see how it is absorbed.
