About this deal

If you typically use a lot of grounds at once, you may want to opt for a larger capacity grinder, like the Orphan Espresso LIDO E-T, which holds an impressive 70 grams.

On coarser settings for French press or the 4:6 method, you can almost achieve 1 gram per second, which is outrageous. On finer settings, you’re closer to 0,7-0,5 gram per second, which is still very, very acceptable. Again, it does reasonably well and better than you’d expect for the price. It’s not quite at the upper echelon since it still produces a fair amount of fines. However, you can still make tasty coffee with it. That should also help this hand grinder age a little more gracefully; burrs change over time, but a spring won’t lose tension that easily in a grinder (since it won’t undergo too much stress). However, these burrs falter when it comes to speed. Grinder with the C3 is slower than with the C2, and the flavour and clarity aren’t noticeably improved. Given that the S2C burrs are the major change from the C2 – and thus the main reason for the cost increase – it is disappointing that they don’t live up to the hype. Portability 4/5 So we were pleased to find that consistency was one of the best aspects of the new burr set in the Timemore C3. In tests, it outperformed the Timemore Slim Plus, which uses the same burrs found in the C2. What about espresso? This hand grinder is very consistent at the medium to coarser settings. But if you use a finer grind setting, you’re probably going to be a little disappointed.

Using this manual coffee grinder is fast, smooth, and easy. The crank handle is easy to turn without excessive force, and it’s surprisingly quiet when crushing coffee beans. Size matters: Most manual grinders have portability as a selling point, but there are degrees. If small and light is your top priority, the Timemore Chesnut Slim Plus and Nano are smaller than the C3, and the Nano even has a fold-away handle perfect for travel. Just beware that they have lower capacity as well.

Timemore Chestnut C2 Hand Grinder Features

Some manual grinders expect you to turn into the Incredible Hulk just to crank out a cupful of grounds. Not the Timemore Chestnut C2. Overall, I think C2 places itself in a comfortable position. It’s the cheapest, serious grinder available, and the size is just about right for something you can use every day while still bringing with you on holiday. Conclusion: Timemore C2 review And I love you for it. That’s why I’ll tell you to look elsewhere if fine-tuning grind settings is what gives you a reason to get up each morning. The Final Verdict

The Timemore C2 has a modern but minimalistic design. The main body is made of Aluminum alloy and is available in a range of neutral colors. The body has a textured surface, which not only looks impressive but makes it easy to grip. It is a striking hand grinder that wins in the aesthetics department. I much prefer the upgraded dial in the newer C2 models. However, in my opinion, the workflow with external grind adjustment systems is a lot better. Timemore C2 Grind Settings As for grind settings, the adjustment knob is easy to turn, too. And when you’re done, this hand grinder is easy to clean and small enough to store anywhere.

Conclusion, For Now

Superkop Lever Espresso Machine One of the most unique espresso makers currently on the market, this is our First Look at the Superkop ratchet lever espresso machine. The handle is stainless steel and mounted on ball bearings, so it spins with minimal resistance for a pretty smooth experience. The C2 also has a pretty small capacity at only 25 grams (compared to other hand grinders that hold anywhere from 30 to even 40 grams). Best For
