So when Playmobil sent me their NHL Arena to review, I was going to either really love it or really hate it. It did take some time with some tiny connection pieces and a lot of stickering but it was not unreasonable.

The ability to customize the set with your favourite teams or your favourite team and their arch nemesis is a antastic option.My son has been playing with anybody and everybody who has entered this house, including his aunt who was visiting from Vancouver. The skaters got 19, because I liked to wear 19 when I played, and 36, because I think Mats Zuccarello kinda looks like a Playmobil figure. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees.

I recently had the opportunity to review the arena and of course, in a moment of classic mean mommy-guilt, I jumped at the chance. Each player is equipped wih all the necessities to engage in battle on ice and comes with a spring-loaded base that allows them to actually launch the puck at the goals! If you know anything about Playmobil, you already know that they pride themselves on being hyper-detailed.

We had one of those sets with the two-dimensional players for everyday use, but the really nice set with the detailed hockey figures was saved for the holidays. The set includes 2 players, 2 goalies, 2 nets, 4 pucks, 2 launchers, 4 ice hockey sticks, 1 sticker sheet with numbers, 3 sticker sheets with NHL team logos, and of course, the arena. And here’s something I discovered that I’m not even sure Playmobil thought of, you can put the goalie on his action feature sideways.

If you are a hockey household like ours and are looking for a hockey table that won’t take up a huge amount of real estate this is a fantastic option. I played it with my family and friends, with the extra special nice tabletop game with the cool figures saved for the holidays. Jen’s days are filled by her seven year old son and husband plus her toddler who was crazy enough to make her arrival on Christmas Day.I think that this toy will actually have longevity in this household and it is most definitely a keeper. The shooting function of the ice hockey player can be released easily with one hand and allows exact shooting of the puck. It is not difficult to put together and I'm glad I bought it new because it comes with a ton of team logo stickers; which is a big bonus to a toddler! You need to be prepared to have the puck go flying off the “ice” multiple times a game, but if you just play on the floor it wouldn’t be a big deal. But to the point at hand, Playmobil allows you to customize not just your players, but the NHL Hockey Arena itself.

Their accessories include skates (which connect to the lever that moves them), leg pads, a blocker, a trapper, a goalie stick, and, of course, an awesome facemask. Thanks to Playmobil, I can pass on this tradition to my son, and we’ll play hockey games just like my father and I did. The NHL Hockey Arena (set 5068 for the sticklers) can either fit into an existing Playmobil theme or stand alone. Combined with the puck shooting action of the skaters, the ability of the goalies to go post to post in the crease really makes for a lot of fun hockey gameplay. Well, I’m happy to report here that although Playmobil’s attention to detail is still greatly evident with their NHL Hockey Arena, it is very easy to assemble.At his last birthday my poor deprived child begged and pleaded for the new Playmobil Arena but I put my foot down and said absolutely not. He comes by it honestly as both my husband and I played hockey and the husband is a huge fan of the NHL © and supports not one, but two teams with true love and adoration. Not only that, but when he tore it open and discovered there were players (and goalies) from his two favourite teams he was literally beside himself.
