About this deal

Theresa and Antonio were having an affair, and before they were to go to Spain together, he disappeared.

Agatha band Toni are in their way to their friend Bill’s wedding when a naked man comes stumbling out in front of their car. In my opnion Green does a good job capturing Beaton's voice as well as the essence of the characters.

The encounter leads them to become embroiled with a naturist group, a disappearing corpse, fantasy games, witchcraft, an ice cream empire, intrigue and murder. She left Smith’s to join Scottish Field magazine as a secretary in the advertising department, without any shorthand or typing, but quickly got the job of fashion editor instead.

Then before she knows it, she says she will go with him to a barbecue of the Mircester Naturist Society without any clothes! He demonstrates his knowledge of her older books by constantly mentioning them, but it's really not necessary and he should get on with the story in the same style as Marion if he wants to keep the once loyal band of eager readers that Marion had. This was followed by a move to Fleet Street to the Daily Express where she became chief woman reporter. I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Little, Brown Book Group/ Constable via NetGalley. With the resources she has at her disposal provided by others, she makes short work of what needs to be done.

In the meantime, Agatha’s hectic life swirls along at dizzying pace, her private detective agency as busy as ever and her private affairs in turmoil – old loves to contend with and a new suitor on the scene.

Despite fans of the television show seeing many differences in the book from age to ethnicity to personality and some characters only found in one or the other, it is unique, must read! Agatha and her team have a few cases to solve, including a disappearing dead body, theft at a brewery, and drug dealing at a girls school. The two handmaidens that Agatha and Toni met and thought were a little too weird and instantly put them on their list of suspects were two sisters, Ursula Danieli and Ulrika Rayner.C. Beaton's imperfect heroine is an absolute gem' Publishers Weekly'[Agatha] is a glorious cross between Miss Marple, Auntie Mame, and Lucille Ball . Agatha asks a law enforcement officer she met at the wedding where she was going at the beginning of the book, John Glass, who also asks to see Agatha again after the wedding.
