About this deal

You switch between them by Turning off the current setting, and immediately pressing the power button again. The new end design makes it shorter, the original LC90 had two screw on caps, the first covers the batteries and presented MicroB, the 2nd presented operation button. Not only is it great having a rechargeable flashlight, I love that it has a zoom ability so you can focus the beam on certain spaces.

It will make it more awkward to use but suppose those who have one will adjust their technique quickly. To insert the battery you need to unscrew the end button cap which reveals the battery cover cap which is also where you plug in the micro USB to charge the battery. I could have better understood the location of the charging port if its placement allowed Anker to make the flashlight submersible. Although I have purchased a few products from Anker in the past, I have not had any conversations with any representative of that company about any topic.

Anker did not request I review this light, nor was any form of compensation offered to review it by anyone. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Let me be perfectly clear: I do not recommend the LC90 for any kind of tactical, self-defense, law enforcement or military use. Disclosure: We are a professional review site that receives compensation from the companies whose products we review. The problem with the charging system is that you have to disassemble the rear of the flashlight to access the charging port.

I used several times when walking in the dark around the property and going into one of the unlit out buildings at night. This torch has multiple modes as most “tactical” torches do, High, Medium, Low, Strobe and Emergency. Being able to focus those 900 lumens a little tighter would be a great improvement and at the same time correcting the dull spot when in wide zoom. Also, I can’t tell but couldn’t you just swap the end caps where the power button is from one version to the other or are they different size? After several e-mails back and forth, they sent me a replacement torch, which, despite the fact that it's often stuck in either strobe or SOS modes while going through all the modes, for the most part, works.Having to remove the end cap to charge is pretty annoying for me as it means this cant be left on charge and used as a grab it and go emergency light. Constructed with quality materials and built to last, the Anker LC90 is a reliable and durable flashlight option. This assumption is one that most flashlight manufacturers hope you make, and is not some special trick invented by Anker. Run to exhaustion, leaving this in high mode it ran for just over 4 hours, this is a fantastic run rime. This suggests that the light will be bright but spread over a wide area – not in a tight spot pattern.

According to an organization representative I spoke with in the past, the organization takes consumer confidence seriously and investigates all potential misuses of its standard. Some people might say that Anker printed the information in this way to intentionally mislead consumers.

While the data and tables above help to explain how the flashlight performs, the following photos actually show you. The LC-90 is (obviously) much brighter than the LC-40, but for personal use I’ve found LC-40 plenty bright on many different occasions. Flashlights with low candela measurements compared to their total light output tend to offer a flood pattern while high candela measurements for a similar output level suggest a more focused beam.
