As the title implies, this story has its true beginning with the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico of July 1947. Not only did the Roswell incident occur, but we also secured alien technology and kept it hidden from our competitors--a major influence on our tech revolution.
If it had been marketed as historical fiction, or alternative history, I would have been perfectly happy.The book is consistent with authoritative publications on UFOs (detailed below) and also with my personal experience working in the high tech industry, particularly my three years with a semiconductor company with substantial military contracts. We are regaled with paragraphs explaining how "I was in charge of this" and "I was one of only a few people who knew that" and "I met the Pope" (not making that one up) and so forth.
A lot of our technology was reverse engineered by things they found on the downed craft in Roswell, including night vision and micro chip technology etc. Backed by documents newly declassified through the Freedom of Information Act, Colonel Corso reveals for the first time his personal stewardship of alien artifacts from the crash, and discloses the U. When he learned about the book's contents, Thurmond stated, "I know of no such 'cover-up,' and do not believe one existed.
