In this book, Mal (Maleficent’s daughter), Evie (Evil Queen’s daughter), Carlos (Cruella De Vil’s son) and Jay (Jafar’s son) use Maleficent’s old spell book as a journal about their experiences and their new lives in Auradon. When Mal first got to Auradon, she used her spell book to try and destroy the place, and then she used it to fit in there. Mal thanks Evie for the enthusiasm but says they need to find a tear of human sadness; That she can't remember the last time she cried.
