About this deal

Originally from Altrincham, Simon Arron grew up near Oulton Park, writing and photographing club races for the local newspaper and subsequently Motoring News, until he was taken on as a full-time reporter in 1982. I can't imagine the time it must've taken to source decades of images and rescan film to get the kind of resolution found in this book. Technical changes aimed at levelling the playing field for the teams combined with the sport's tightening budget cap have made the races closer than ever. He still finds time to photograph at his beloved Oulton Park and is Motor Sport's 'Editor at Large'.

Nice trip down memory lane too with the chapter on the F1 drivers, a fair number sadly no longer with us having perished pursuing the sport they loved. This is more of a high level overview of F1 racing through the years and how it got to where it is today. En conséquence, toutes les commandes passées en ligne entre le 26 et le 31 janvier seront retardées. He has edited several publications, including Motor Sport, Motoring News and the long-running motorsport yearbook, Autocourse.

They do not get into many of the details and it is more of a summary of major things than anything else. He still finds time to photograph at his beloved Oulton Park and is Motor Sport’s ‘Editor at Large’.In 2016 Liberty Media took over the running of F1 and purchased GP2, then rebranded it as Formula 2 in 2017. Moreover, the early eras were in every respect— money, technology, participation, regulations, audience etc.

No one would settle for WEC Champion or Australian Supercars champion, Indy Cars Champion, Japanese Super Formula Champion or Formula E Champion if they had a realistic shot at the F1 title. I think this book is fantastic for anyone remotely interested in F1, whether you’ve been a fan forever or maybe just recently got into the sport like myself. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Chapter 4 speaks about controversies in the sport and is probably the most fun read of the book for me.

The pre-loved books are carefully cleaned and maintained offering a wide variety of general and specialist titles from children's to adults. Along with changes to circuits and the technology of the cars, this book highlights the commercial changes and the controversies that threatened to split the sport apart - such as the threat of breakaway series proposed at various times by teams. He has written about and photographed motor sport ever since, covering events at more than 100 venues across six continents, from Phillip Island in Australia to Le Mans, Indianapolis, Kyalami, Interlagos, Suzuka and Curaçao. Formula 1: The Pinnacle tracks a history of the changes which have taken F1 from its rudimentary beginnings to the exhilarating high octane spectacle it is today, with a foreword by Guenther Steiner - Team Principal of the Haas Formula One Team.

Technical changes aimed at levelling the playing field for the teams combined with the sport's tightening budget cap will make the races closer than ever. The first part is dedicated to the sport itself and how it came to be, including grid setup and other details such as this.I have been around the Motorsports industry for a long time but circle track, and just started getting more into F1 when the Netflix show came out (bandwagon fan, I know). In this review of “Formula 1: The Pinnacle,” I won’t exhaustively list and describe the subjects that authors Simon Arron and Tony Dodges cover in their stunning coffee-table volume. The chapters start with a synopsis of the sport, then the circuits, the technical aspects, controversies, safety, the hall of famers in the sport, and lastly the commercial side. Just a quick poll since it seems that the majority of F1 fans (sample size of 2) I come across believe that it is the pinnacle of motorsport with better drivers, cars, racing, engineering, etc. The book will link technical progress with the personalities involved, indeed many of the swiftest changes have come about as a result of accidents or tragedies — the death of Roland Ratzenberger at Imola in 1994, the same weekend as Ayrton Senna, could have been avoided by the HANS safety device.
