About this deal

All the classic Metallica moves are here on an album James Hetfield says is about the first eighteen years (or '72 Seasons') of our lives and how it shapes us into adulthood. The band's fast tempos, instrumentals and aggressive musicianship made them one of the founding "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Its recording took place at One on One Studios in Los Angeles over an eight-month span that frequently found Metallica at odds with their new producer Bob Rock. Seasons has been produced by Greg Feldman alongside Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield and it tackles themes around the impact our formative years have on the rest of our lives. From the intense opening cut 'Battery' to the aforementioned and incomparable title-track, to the haunting 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)', all the way to the epic instrumental monster 'Orion', this third LP took the promise of the band's preceding 1984 effort 'Ride The Lightning', and lofted it into the metal stratosphere.

The first drop includes new editions of Metallica’s first five studio albums, opening with Kill ‘Em All, the band’s ground-breaking album will be released on Nov 3, 2023 pressed on 180g ‘Jump In The Fire Engine Red’ vinyl, featuring the 2016 remastered audio. It's pretty powerful, potent stuff, running through a number of the group's strongest tracks in a live context, which goes some way towards transporting us to the gig itself. This album showcases the highlights from Metallica’s legendary concert at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas, on 5 February 1989. Well, for life long devotees of the consummate thrashers, it most surely is, and finally here comes their twelfth studio album via their own Blackened Recordings. And Justice For All featuring the single “One” which earned the band its first Grammy award will be released Feb 2, 2024 as a double-disc set pressed on 180g ‘Dyers Green’ vinyl, featuring the 2018 remastered audio.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the Album and the release of 'Lux Æterna,' Metallica also announces their M72 World Tour, which will span the years 2023 and 2024. Review: Following on from their iconic 1982 debut full-length Kill 'Em All, the sophomore effort from thrash metal titans Metallica would mark their turn towards not just darker but more introspective and dynamic songwriting.

Ride The Lightning, Metallica’s 6 x Platinum sophomore album will be released on Dec 1, 2023 pressed on 180g ‘Electric Blue’ vinyl, also featuring the 2016 remastered audio. Review: There's no thrash, or general metal album, apart from possibly Black Sabbath's Paranoid, that's as instantly recognisable as Metallica's 1986 magnum opus Master Of Puppets.

Review: The thrash metal classic that started it all, launched a thousand imitators and defined an entire era; the debut LP from Metallica may come off as a tad retro or traditionalist by today's genre standards, but it still delivers an endless barrage of breakneck pace riffage, fretboard mangling solos and timeless anthems.

The songs 'enter sandman' and 'sad but true' are both iconic and it's easy to see why, this album is a perfect harmony of rock and metal and I can't help but sing along. Review: If you've seen Metallica live and in the flesh you'll appreciate how ferocious their shows are. Metallica’s fifth album, Metallica (1991), will be pressed on 180g ‘Some Blacker Marbled’ limited edition coloured vinyl, featuring the 2021 remastered audio. Produced by Greg Fidelman with founding members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, and clocking in at more than 77 minutes, the 12-track album is Metallica's first full length collection of new material since 2016's Hardwired.
