About this deal

By his own admission they made an odd couple: “We were an unusual sight; a big, bearded tattooed bloke on a bike, with a kitten sitting on his shoulder like Long John Silver’s parrot. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Nicholson is at his best when he tells the story of a man finding a sense of purpose from an unlikely (and adorable) source…charming. This was exactly what I needed to read, but at the same time, horrible, because I can't travel to any of these countries.

I enjoyed it a lot as I do love a good travelogue as it detailed finding the kitten, how biker Dean's life changed for the better, the people he met and places he visited, and how his following on Instagram and elsewhere led him to being able to help charities, especially animal ones. Anyway, all that to say that I'd have enjoyed this book more, I feel, if the author weren't an Instagram-star, dependent on an Instagram following. The videos he added on Nala, and their trip was well viewed and the friends he and Nala made as they travelled was life changing.

With gorgeous illustrations from winner of the Waterstones Gift of the Year, Frann Preston-Gannon, and also featuring photos of Dean and Nala's real-world adventures. Both curious, independent, resilient and adventurous, they were a perfect match - and so together, they set off to travel around the world. Erinomaisen vetävästi ja kiinnostavasti kirjoitettu ja hyvin suomennettu teos, jota suosittelen kaikille kissojen ja eläinten ystäville. Made me appreciate the special bond I have with my own cat, and also made me want to treat life as less of a race and more of an adventure. Nala is a delight, whether playing with others, kissing Dean, clowning around, riding in front of the bike, rear or on Dean's shoulder.

Soon on his travels with the cat he named Nala, they forged an unbreakable bond -- both curious, independent, resilient and adventurous. In Nala’s World, we worked with Frann to bring our story to life in an engaging way to spark the imagination and passion of young minds. The video of how they met has had 20 million views and their Instagram has grown to almost 750k followers – and still counting! A totally heartwarming tail (deliberate misspelling) about a guy biking across Europe, and getting adopted by a lovely, friendly female kitten.

He soon decides he could use his influence to do some good in the world and highlights the work of animal charities and the widespread issue of dogs being abandoned in many parts of the world. He is a hard worker who is good at budgeting and that enables him to make this trip, and he does acknowledge is insane level of privilege after wandering into a Syrian refugee camp, so this is coming off a lot meaner than it should, but man, the whole world is shut down because of a pandemic where people have lost their jobs and can't leave their homes and haven't seen their families in months and so his failure to get a visa for Nala to go to some country because of animal control just doesn't seem like a major deal to me. Through her story we share about loving and caring for animals, our beautiful wee book will show young readers everywhere that you can find friendship in the most unlikely places. If you haven't been following what is really a very minor news story that's uplifting and cute, this book will not be interesting to you.

This wasn’t only a test of physical endurance, it was also an attempt to escape the daily routine and to find fresh purpose in his life: “I hit the road to find a road. Three months after leaving home, on a remote road in the mountains between Montenegro and Bosnia, he came across an abandoned kitten.Hachette Book Group is a leading book publisher based in New York and a division of Hachette Livre, the third-largest publisher in the world.

His interest in helping the environment, clearing up plastic waste and generally doing good, is an example to us all. On the road to Turkey Dean had to cycle in a dry heat that could reach 100 Fahrenheit, whilst hauling 50kgs of belongings, including Nala's pet carrier. Both curious, independent, resilient, and adventurous, they were a perfect match - and so together, they set off to travel around the world. I have also found that those with the least are often so very generous, that’s not to say those that have more don’t give, but the generosity of many of the poor is humbling.
