About this deal

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is a 2008 action-adventure video game based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. The sheer level of glitches in the game, however, manages to take the fun factor down several notches".

The ATE’s, while less onerous than their Spider-Man 3 counterparts (Only one notable ATE pops up that isn’t scripted; the rest take place in cutscenes), are still annoying, and while it’s nice that the developers offered retries immediately following failure and popped them up on-screen a few seconds before they needed to be pressed to give you fair warning… well, look, in Shenmue, these sorts of things simply changed the direction in which the story flowed; in Web of Shadows and about a billion other games of this type, you do the presses or die, period. In the beginning, a flashback shows how a fight with Venom causes a symbiote to connect to Spider-Man, giving him increased power. The story goes to great lengths to explain how the symbiote-repulsion technology will stop symbiotes to protect the people, yet Spider-Man can safely pass through it, despite having a symbiote attached to him. Red suit Spider-Man relies mostly on web attacks and speed, where black suit Spider-Man relies entirely on brute strength and raw power. As it is, Web of Shadows is still a solid, enjoyable game that’s mostly worth playing, and comes highly recommended to fans of the franchise and the character; the flaws might put off the more casually interested player, but for everyone else, the flaws simply render the game LESS great than it deserves to be.Points awarded during battle can be used across unique paths to upgrade the Red Suit and Black Suit, allowing players complete control over the style and moves they take into combat.

With Venom now too weak to accompany him, Spider-Man ventures deeper into the hive by himself and encounters the Symbiote Leader. GameRankings and Metacritic gave it a score of 79% and 77 out of 100 for the DS version; [10] [17] 54% and 52 out of 100 for the Microsoft Windows version; [11] [18] 69% and 69 out of 100 for the PlayStation 2 version; [12] [19] 70% and 67 out of 100 for the PlayStation 3 version; [13] [20] 77% for the PlayStation Portable version; [14] 68% and 68 out of 100 for the Xbox 360 version; [16] [22] and 65% and 63 out of 100 for the Wii version. During the game, however, the player will be compelled to make judgments morally equivalent to Spider-Man’s red outfit or black suit. The DS version has some nice looking environments, but it suffers from a frequently dark color palate that can make it difficult to pick out much detail. The story, while odd, is entertaining, the visual and audio presentation are great across the board, and the gameplay is both incredibly simple to learn (despite its daunting initial introduction) and incredibly fun to work with, allowing the player to pull off all sorts of awesome tricks and combat maneuvers with the greatest of ease. The story is solid and mostly well written (If occasionally stupid and COMPLETELY out of continuity), the presentation is top notch across the board, and the game is simply fun and amazing to play. During the evacuation, Wolverine gets infected by a symbiote, but Spider-Man defeats and rescues him, potentially ripping him in half under the black suit's influence. When the game ISN’T crashing, it slows down infrequently when fighting lots of enemies, which is, uh, all the time in later chapters.

D. installs the Tinkerer's completed device, but Symbiote Vulture leads an aerial assault to destroy it. So you can't resist the opportunity to swing through Manhattan one more time, but aren't sure which version of the game will give you the best experience? However, the end of these battles is almost always a quick-time event, which can be very frustrating, especially if you think quick-time events ****. There are some exploration elements and hidden rooms, but you'll usually be moving from left to right while punching and kicking an assortment of thugs and symbiote-infected citizens.

The DS version of the game, in contrast to the console versions, was relatively well-received, [28] [40] with reviewers praising level design similar to the Castlevania and Metroid franchises while criticizing the short length. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Every Choice Counts: Dependant on the gamer's actions and decisions, a morality meter will gauge whether citizens cheer Spider-Man on or run away in fear. The mission structure and open world design isn't always compelling, but the core mechanics of web swinging and the nice HD graphics help to compensate.
