About this deal

Now we can talk about Ben’s mother. I loved her, also one of my favorite psychological characters. Ben’s mother tried hard for him when he was little against his father and he and his father have this problem because he is an artist and likes art. Now she's determined to be "New Lola"—the version of herself that has always been hiding beneath duty, guilt, promises, and secrets since her mother passed away when she was fifteen. Someone who never said no. Someone who has always said yes and getting out of that mental space takes a long time and is very difficult especially when it comes to your family but you know what Lola did she started it so they literally knew the moral of the story and then at the end she did it with her family she did with her family and i love to see that growth in her she also deserves the world she deserves to be happy because one thing i will say i think this is the only time in her life she was always happy when she was with ben before he wasn’t happy and it’s very noticeable!!!! Ben Coleman left his hometown and the family business that should have been his to pursue his true passion: art and tattooing. Coleman Ink has become his world, and he’s tailored the business to fit his life the way he wants it, rather than the life that was originally laid out for him.

However, with her job comes to some challenges as well. Every man she encounters is hiding something, not showing his true colors and trying to impress. It’s not worth the emotional stress for her to try anymore. But when she is invited to her father’s wedding, a man who lived a double life, she realizes she has no date of herself to bring to the event even after years of matchmaking.

So even though she’s moving on, starting her own bakery on the Ocean View boardwalk, the mess that her father always seems to get himself into still is finding its way to her. The book has a very strong start in terms of character meet cute, character descriptions, plot development, and relationship development - it was giving slowww burn, which I love.

the way luke and cassie met was funny lmao - kept me engaged and was predictable but duh didn’t rlly deter me This book also has some seriously good tropes so I have to give it 4/5 stars. Any book with the “who did this to you” trope is a banger. Until early one morning he's woken up by what he thinks is an intruder only to find it's just his new neighbor. His new neighbor, who has no regard for her own safety, wakes up way too early, and seems to have made it her job to tempt him. This book is just fantastic! I already cannot wait to read the next instalment to the series! I don’t want to give away too many spoilers so as vague as this review may be, trust me, you NEED to read it! onto side characters — SO glad that cassie found a friend in gabi (gabrielle aka her assistant? coworker?) bc like we all need a good friend amirite. made me excited for her book too Love the Morgan story, you outdo yourself, it’s a sharp five out of five. I would give it a three out of five but this book was amazing honestly everything i needed this weekend made me so happy to love lola and then they are destined to be. They deserve each other and I’m glad they got their happy ending. I will buy this book and read it again whenever I get a chance! But Hannah refuses to make the same mistakes as her mother. Hannah spent her childhood watching what precisely happens when a family is torn apart and has lived with those consequences ever since. When the perfect time came, she swore never to make the same mistakes again by settling for anyone. Ben Coleman left his hometown and the family business that should have been his to pursue his true passion: art and tattooing. Coleman Ink has become his world, and he's tailored the business to fit his life the way he wants it, rather than the life that was originally laid out for him.

the MFC was just boring. I hated the politicians daughter and this whole mafia threat story line it was just confusing and i didnt care about it so it made the book boring. Her reasoning for continuing to talk to the mafia dude is to protect her sister but as a reader i literally dont care about her sister at all so it just made no sense and was just dumb. The thing that made me really hate her though and kinda connects to the MMC as well is that we had the 'stand up to the love intrests family bc apparantly they are going to listen to a random girl they met just 5 minutes ago'. TBH i was on the families side bc to me it did seem like the MMC just ditched the family buisness and i know he isnt entitled to work their but he doesnt need to stop talking to his whole family because of it, i can see why they were upset. This is my third book by this author and I still haven’t decided if I love her writing yet. The first book i read was okay (3.5 rating), the second one I read was really good (4.5 rating) and unfortunately this one has also fallen into the “it was okay” category for me. Until she agrees to work with Luke! On that first date, something is different, all of her carefully crafted rules are being tested? But can she take the leap, and trust this 5⭐️ man to catch her? One thing I was really mad at the book for is the two weeks we missed, we missed them dating more than the ‘3 dates’ we missed them technically falling in love and it’s such a shame cause I think that would have been great to see. It definitely effected my rating here.Goodreads Librarians are volunteers who help ensure the accuracy of information about books and authors in the Goodreads' catalog. Will Lola open up and share her burden with someone else? Will she be able to keep her family’s secrets without getting hurt? ok so i really like morgan elizabeth, her writing style is really digestible and the books are easy to read. i think this is probably more of a 3.5 leaning more towards a 4

His father doesn’t understand and his father doesn’t like him, he doesn’t understand but ben’s mother understood that she was there for him, they made art together, she loves him with all her heart and has hard for ben and his art worked and she is proud of him and her art and thats all i needed to know about her to know i would love her!!!Ever since he watched Hannah dance, he finds himself drifting from his set objectives and purpose- or could he be drifting closer to them?
