About this deal

Basically, didn’t realise it was set during the pandemic, which is why it’s important to read the blurb! I will say that I really enjoyed the characters, both major and minor, they were well rounded and had great little stories all of their own. (There’s also a previous book that I’m going to have to go and read now) I met Loveday in the previous book “ Lost For Words” and was captivated by her. I love stories about overcoming adversity and that was Loveday in the previous book. A delightful and original concept about how a second hand bookshop can heal a community' Katie Fforde Who is Henry? We ask this from the start when we see him outside on the street where Martha lives staring at the numbers hoping to locate a certain bookshop that seems to have disappeared. He embarks on a journey that changes his life, once meeting Martha. I will say no more about him for discovery is part of the fun in this story.

Beautifully written and captures the wonder and awe that a story can bring to its reader…a delightful story for any book lover…an ode to storytelling and the connections that books can make!’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book had me sitting up into the small hours. Such a lovely read, very relatable and touching' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ I loved the premise for Found in a Bookshop by Stephanie Butland. An idea borne from a customer’s letter to the Lost For Words bookshop, requesting books, Loveday and Kelly set up a book pharmacy. The idea is a success and they soon receive many letters from people requesting books to help them with the challenges they are facing during the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic. Kelly and Loveday use their knowledge and love of books to suggest novels that may help and comfort their customers. I said to my mum (who isn't a particularly keen reader) that I wanted to exist in the world of this book. I know it's very much a normal world, full of pandemics and whatnot (and you're probably screaming that we did live in a world full of pandemics why would you want to again?), but this world and community she has created within the bookshop is perfect.I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book via NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The Echo of Old Books meets The Lost Apothecary in this evocative and charming novel full of mystery and secrets. ‘The thing about books,’ she said ‘is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.’ This book had me sitting up into the small hours. Such a lovely read, very relatable and touching‘ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ HarperCollins, UK, One More Chapter stories have never been a disappointment and as I have never heard of Evie Woods as an author, I can say I will never forget the name and this opportunity. “The Lost Bookshop” is an enjoyable and mesmerizing story that transcends the reader into the lives of three interesting individuals…Opaline, Martha, and Henry. Each character brings to life their narratives in first person in Dublin; stories filled with mystery, magic, and fantasy.

This is a story about lost things waiting to be found. People trying to find themselves, too, and each other. Relationships that phase in and out. Some remain, some disappear. Organic learning at its best. I found it emotional right from the off. And that's not necessarily in a sad way - although there is that too (you'll get no spoilers from me!), but it's just very moving and I suppose I wasn't expecting that. There is sadness, yes, collective and individual sadness, but there's also happiness and joy and friendship and family and love and, above all, hope, even when all seems lost. And that is all very moving.Such a lovely read, very relatable and touching' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐'I LOVED this book . . . A joy to read' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐'One of the best books I've read in quite some time' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐Loveday Cardew's beloved Lost for Words bookshop, along with the rest of York, has fallen quiet.

I really liked the characters Rosemary and George. I loved the concept of getting books as part of mental health and how they can help us through rough times. The perfect book to curl up with . . . It's heartwarming, emotional and full of kindness. A lovely and life-affirming novel' Sara Nisha Adams I'd recommend them to anyone, and especially those recovering from a broken heart' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐'It made me laugh, it made me cry and left me with a feeling of community spirit - I will definitely be recommending this to others, it is a fantastic read' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐'This book is going straight on my list of top ten books' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐'Her writing is utterly engaging and this book truly moved me.

PHENOMENAL!! This book is utter perfection!! A definite masterpiece!! I absolutely loved this book so much!! It surpassed all my expectations! I was hooked from the very beginning and could not put it down. I can easily say it is one of my favorite reads EVER! Who doesn't like a story about books and a mysterious missing bookstore?! Each chapter is told in the first person in turn by Opaline beginning in 1920’s Dublin, Martha in the recent past and that of Henry her recent acquaintance. At times there is humour although not as much as in the last book which is understandable given the serious nature of the times. It’s very moving and poignant with some heartbreak and it’s thought provoking too. Along the journey there is kindness and thoughtfulness, there are situations that arise that overcome preconceptions and finding commonality along with plenty of honesty.
