About this deal

The Vision Pro may not be aimed at playing the best VR games, but that doesn't mean you can't game with it. Apple Arcade provides over 100 games — including NBA 2K — that will be playable on day one. And you can even use a Bluetooth controller to play your games since the Apple Vision Pro has no first-party controllers. Apple AR Glasses release date: Expect to see the Apple Glasses launch sometime in 2023 according to the latest reports. The most current Apple Glass prototype reportedly looks like an “un-intimidating” pair of plastic glasses, while marketing materials suggest a Clark Kent-esque design. Apple has yet to announce a release date for the Apple Glasses (or even announce the device itself) but reports suggest we’ll be waiting quite a while for them to launch, even if they do appear at one of the upcoming Apple events.

There’s also the option to save your own picture settings in the Custom mode, which allows you to adjust various parameters, including contrast, video brightness, colour saturation, hue/tint, white balance, local dimming and colour temperature.

Augmented Reality (AR) or Mixed Reality is different than Virtual Reality (VR). Rather than being immersed in a fully-rendered world, AR/MR layers data on top of the real world. Right now, Apple's efforts are focused on ARKit, its platform for hundreds of millions of iPhone and iPad users. But Apple doesn't see AR as a single product, like Microsoft's HoloLens or Snap's Spectacles. Apple sees AR as a core technology that will be part of many products coming in the future. Just like LCD and OLED are part of many products today. And that might just include Apple Glasses. March 8, 2019: Apple Glasses could be coming as soon as 2020 AR in full 3D: Some people would like just a heads-up display, but the true power of AR comes from full 3D integration. For Apple Glasses to be successful, you should be able to run any iOS AR app that currently works on the iPhone through the wearable device. And now that we've officially seen the Vision Pro, it's clear that Apple wanted to have a true mixed reality device rather than a VR headset. The Vision Pro at times feels like an AR glasses copycat, particularly with features such as EyeSight that allow others to see your eyes while you're using the Vision Pro. It seems this estimate of 400,000 could be right on the money. A report from Financial Times suggests that Apple's initial sales target of 1 million units in the first year has now been revised to —you guessed it —400,000 units. That could make it nearly impossible for Apple to reach an install base of 20 million users in 5 years, which some analysts are predicting. If Apple aims to create a true augmented reality solution — as opposed to a heads-up display that shows 2D floating notifications or maps, like Google Glass — it’s reasonable to expect the Apple Glasses to connect directly to the iPhone on a dedicated Wi-Fi connection.

Apple AR Glasses features: These AR specs could send images directly into your eyes and will likely be controlled by basic taps and swipes plus your Apple iPhone. At first glance, the Apple Vision Pro doesn't look incredibly dissimilar from a traditional VR headset or even a mixed reality device like the Meta Quest Pro. But once you turn it on, there are some distinct differences. Rather than immersing yourself in a completely virtual world, AR aims to blend digital elements into our physical environment. Despite making a number of key AR talent hires over the years - including acquiring NextVR, a startup that produced virtual reality content for the likes of the NBA and Fox Sports - we’ve yet to hear much of the experiences Apple is developing.

Apple glasses are the next hot thing, according to the rumor mills, and now comes word that Apple is speeding up its efforts to get glasses —and a new SiP and rOS to power them — off the ground and onto our faces as early as 2020. Sky Glass is a big product for the UK satellite TV giant. Not only is it the first TV the company has built, it’s also the first time Sky has produced a streaming-only product without compromising streaming quality and features. It comes with a built-in Dolby Atmos soundbar that runs along the bottom and includes speakers that fire upwards. And you can use it with any broadband connection, though Sky recommends a minimum of 10Mbits/sec for HD content and 25Mbits/sec for 4K content. Based on everything we've heard, Apple wants the Apple Glass to look and act like an ordinary lightweight pair of glasses rather than adopt the Vision Pro's approach. That means glasses that are able to project information, and presumably imagery, onto the lenses.Unfortunately, Apple Glasses may not arrive for a long time, with Apple reportedly delaying the project due to technical challenges.

Apple will likely introduce AR through iPhone or iPad, perhaps using Pokémon Go as a demo, long before we see glasses. But, AR is a long game for Apple, so we'll also have to wait and see where the technology takes them. And us. April 20, 2017: Apple health and safety reports hints at Glasses Valid prescription required. Not all prescriptions are supported. Vision correction accessories are sold separately. As for the Apple Glass displays, the headset may use Sony OLED displays for AR, according to display analyst Ross Young. Apple Glasses specs The latest rumors indicate that we could be looking at a late 2022 or early 2023 release date for the Apple VR headset - indicating that the Glasses likely won’t arrive until 2024 based on the leaks and rumors we've heard. The first Apple Watch launched without the ability to do anything on its own, and instead relied on an iPhone for any processing. It was a remote display and there was a bit of criticism about how useful it was. Apple has since done an outstanding job creating a tiny Mac in a box to put inside the Apple Watch and the people who own one love it and find it useful every day. It's going to be an ugly transition, but it's going to be a magnificent completion. August 29, 2018: Akonia Holographics is Apple's latest augmented reality acquisition Unfortunately, a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has thrown cold water on this release window of early 2024. Or at least, it's suggested that the use of "early" could be a stretch. Instead, it's expected that the headset will now release in March 2024 rather than around the beginning of the year. We haven't seen an official storage spec from Apple for the Vision Pro yet, but there is one rumor out there. Reportedly, the Vision Pro could come with a 1TB SSD on board for storing apps, games and more. One option explored by Apple is making the camera module removable. “The modular accessory would also make it possible for venues such as bars and theaters to ban the modular accessory while still allowing the HMD frame (without the accessory) into the venues,” the patentreads.
