About this deal

Silent switches have rubber dampening installed on the stem to silence the impact of the key when a keystroke is logged. Coming in marginally less wobbly than that of previous Kailh Box switch iterations, these have a potentially noticeable but likely unproblematic amount of N/S and E/W stem wobble for the vast majority of users out there. Signature winglatch housings also quash all top housing budge. Sound Low-profile keyboards are quite the rage nowadays, especially amongst the gaming community. These keyboards are typically thinner and also have shorter switches as well.

They’re not bad by any means–but they’re just not in the same league as the Box Jades–and many keyboard enthusiasts shy away from them for this reason. I made another change to my procedure by having another period of time at the end when I am speaking and typing at the same time. The reason is because I had observed RNNoise was able to remove fan noise while I was speaking when I was first testing it for my recordings, however long ago. I wanted to discover if it would be able to remove the sound of the Box Jades like it did the fan noise, which seemed like the fan was not there (something I will certainly enjoy in the Summer months). First though I want to share the results of the first sound tests, from shortly after I installed the switches. As usual I have uploaded the audio files to GitHub so they can be viewed: Custom-Keyboard-Files/@Switches/Kailh Box Jade/NK65.

Introduction:

This makes them ideal for gaming or typing in silence. Linear switches are smooth and silent, making them perfect for gaming. I have no idea why they are circle shaped but still called BOX switches… you’ll just have to ask someone at Kailh. A wonderful UK based operation which sells singles to switches that I’ve used above in my comparisons for collectors and the curious alike. Matt has gone out of his way to help me build out big parts of my collection, and buying something using this link supports him as well as my content! KeebCats UK

As we mentioned earlier, we have foundno relationship between a shorter actuation distance and a faster reaction time. Kailh Box Jade switches are some of the most popular mechanical keyboard switches on the market. They offer a smooth, linear feel and have a very tactile bump near the actuation point. This makes them ideal for gaming or typing. The slider rails are not centered on the B side of the stem, making measurements like D impossible to functionally use for calculations.

Conclusion:

They are are known to have a lifespan of 60 million keystrokes. Although they aren’t quite as good as Cherry MX which have a lifespan of 100 million keystrokes. This is a big downside for keyboard enthusiasts, as lubing your switches is one of the best upgrades you can make to your mechanical keyboard.

Kailh Box Jade switches are a variation of Kailh Box switches, with a jade green stem. Kailh Box switches are considered tactile, meaning that they provide a noticeable bump when actuated. Kailh is one of the largest producers of mechanical switches with dozens of different switches available. Similar to the Speed switches, we have found low-profile switchesto not have a noticeable impact on gaming reaction time. The Low-Profile switches are much more thin as they need to fit inside the smaller case of a low-profile keyboard.I like the switches, even if they make my hands tired after any heavy use. They are extremely tactile and are fun to type on. I am definitely keeping these on my Kona as my daily driver (and if you all like this post maybe I'll make another about my long term impression of the switch after I've had more time with it). For stem wobble, there is some, but not much. Along the North-South line the stem can move a noticeable amount between my fingers, though I do not think it is enough to be concerned about. Along the West-East line there is some movement, but it is far less, basically just enough to tell the stem is able to move. Remember, to ensure the stem can freely move up and down there will be some space for it to wobble in the housing. With regard to the intended sound of the Box Mute Jades, they are hardly recognizable as a ‘muted jade’ when comparing the two switches. All of the sharpness, pointedness, and in-your-face-ness of the original Jade switches feels completely missing and not toned down in the Mute Jades. Kailh has many different switch lines, but their Box Jade switches are some of the most popular. These switches have a nice, tactile feel that makes them great for gaming and typing. They also come in several different colors, making them a popular choice for custom builds. Advantages and Disadvantages
