About this deal

The KBEAR Stellar is a cheap and good budget earbud, sporting a warm U shaped tuning that is non fatiguing and smooth. Technicalities (other than soundstage) are quite well done, though this is a not a set for trebleheads in view of the rolled off treble. Patterned (according to their literature) as slightly warm and inviting, I again concur with their advertising. It is also v-shaped. Even I can sense that. While neither bass nor treble is over-emphasized, they definitely take the front. Vocals are not subdued or withdrawn that much though, and overall it is a pleasantly warm signature, which fits my bill. For the price, even better. Translucent Resin Cavity Stylish Design】The cabinet cavity of KBEAR KS2 is made of imported high-density PC material which can well suppress the diffuse reflection of sound waves inside the cavity. Through the optimization of the internal cavity acoustic structure, the overall sound is more warm and charming, and the soft and mellow audio performance is reproduced as the real picture. Translucent resin material, bright streamer, full of beauty and technology!

Coming to the Amping side if the story – you can literally taste or rather hear the difference between them be clear, as sour is from sweet!! Female vocals sound pretty great per se , they are well balanced. Not a hint of sibliance at all. They are well extended with air in their voice which comes through pretty nicely!! The KS2 doesn't feel particularly valuable, even the gold-plated sound openings don't help. Apart from these, the KS2 is completely made of plastic, but it has quite good ergonomics, even though there are more comfortable designs. the technicalities is graded S, you can still prefer the Empire Ears Legend EVO even though the ThieAudio Monarch MKII have better tonality and technicalities because you have a preference for bassy sets, and that’s fine. The positions are not set in stone. I’m only human; I may miss out on certain details or traits that may only be apparent with repeated listening. Expect changes.

I would love to thank wendy li and keephifi for sending me the stellar to review. I am a big fan of iems/earbuds , I have a big collection of both . Reasons I love ear is for the openess and soundstage as well as being aware of my surroundings. Bass – Lots of bass without muddying the sound. Punchy and mid-bass dominant. There is, surprisingly, sub-bass. But don’t expect a rumble. It’s audible and that in itself is a huge compliment for earbuds. It stays fairly controlled, tight and is very engaging. It is also way more textured than my other buds. I’d take this over my other flathead buds (not semi in-ear) if we’re talking about bass. The Vido is another set with excellent price to performance ratio. Lower mids on the Vido are more depressed and not as full as the KBEAR Stellar. Treble is more extended on the Vido. Subbass extension is less than the KBEAR Stellar and technicalities are slightly worse in the Vido, except for soundstage, where the Vido is better. In general, however, the high frequencies are heard decently and, despite the confusion, they allow a pleasant and relaxing listening of most musical genres.

There are only seven 3-star (★★★) IEMs (with the inclusion of the Aria and the Timeless, up from 5 from the previous update), making it the most prestigious award where only 0.71% have it. When I first saw the “KBEAR” branding, I pictured a bear wearing earphones. But it’s not an animal— KB Ear (as it’s actually styled) is a Chinese earphone maker who has launched a number of entry-level and mid-fi choices to the in-ear market in recent months. The overall sound output is slightly U shaped with excellent bass extension and smooth yet detailed treble. The mids are placed forward with nice engaging vocals. They are quite energetic in sound output. There is a slight hint of sibilance which is like genre specific especially female vocals but not troublesome or fatiguing. In fact this is one of the best non fatiguing earphones I have tested.

As for the comfort of these, as mentioned before, the edges of the plastic still poke against my ear and I absolutely dislike that. 5 minutes into listening on the Monks and I can already feel it, whereas I did not get that while using the Stellars for more than an hour.

Despite me not being a big fan of the build quality of the earphones, I find them really comfortable to wear even for long hours. Due to how lightweight it is, the earphones feel like they are never in your ears and that is really good. On top of that, the lightweight cable never feels like it is tugging on the earphones, adding on to the comfort of the earphones. While there is some warmth inherited from the bass, the KS2’s mids still come through clearly and vocals are nicely articulated, even if they sometimes come across as a bit thin. The mids are slightly recessed, as you would expect with a V-shaped sound but they don’t sound hollow or distant. Treble The IEMs are not ranked in terms of price-to-performance value.* They are ranked according to what I think is “objectively” the best. There are two vents on the inner-side, placed on the same axis. Channel markings are on the side of the shell. The 2-pin connectors protrude from the shell unfortunately and should be handled with care. Mozart Garett and Violin concerto No.4- David Garrett – Mozart moods – Believe made every violin proud pretty much!! And damn the concert I wish I could see one in real life one day

The KB06 is a well balanced W shape tuning with bright tonality from low to highs while the KS2 is a V shape boombox that is way less versatile due to it’s poor technicalities. I think the interesting thing here is how it compares to other earbuds like the ever-so-popular VE Monks and the Moondrop Shiroyuki. Let's first start off with the VE Monks! The bass had good punch but not a great body to accompany it , Subbass was decent enough to have a rumble but not too much tomove you !!!
