About this deal

A robot mower never collects the grasses. Instead, it cuts them into tiny pieces and scatters. This process is called mulching, which is helpful for the lawn and its grasses. These tiny pieces decompose within a few days and supplies the necessary nutrients to the soil. When the update is finished (this may take several minutes), the mower will beep continuously. The flash drive can now be removed. The mower will beep twice indicating that the software update is complete. Not all the lawns are flat. If you have slopes in the yard or garden, then don’t think that the mower will not be able to cut the grasses. Its powerful motor and high-quality wheels easily push the mower over paths that are inclined up to 25 per cent.

The option to set up a mowing schedule means you can leave the LawnMaster L10 to do its things on a regular basis. But if you do, rain is almost certain to come your way at some point. So can you leave outside? The L10 has an IPX rating of 5 which means it is protected against low pressure water from any angle, so the answer is yes. But, we kept ours covered in heavy rain and at night. And, there is a rain sensor that ensures that the mower doesn’t attempt to cut grass when wet. So, choose a machine that comes with a smartphone app, so that you can control from virtually anywhere. Some of the models also offer voice control that you can execute using an assistant like Alexa or Google Home. This brushless motor model from the house of Bosch is another ideal option for small urban lawns. Once set up, its intelligent LogiCut navigation system calculates the most efficient mowing pattern before setting off on its first cut. The automatic mower is easy to set up, configure and suitable for a lawn up to 400 square meters. It means that the mower is excellent for most of the average-sized areas. One of the most important safety features for any robotic mower is a rain sensor. This tells the lawn mower when it is starting to rain causing it to return to its charging station until the conditions become more suitable for mowing. The LawnMaster L10 can be set to mow anywhere between 20mm and 60mm. This is a wide enough range for keeping most gardens well maintained. However, do keep in mind that this isn’t going to be suitable for longer grass, but then that’s not what a robotic mower is about anyway.

I recently reviewed the similar sized WORX model S300 ( video review) and while I think it’s a great bit of kit, it’s by no means quite as straightforward as the LawnMaster L10 in terms of installation, configuration and on-going use. One of the things that a lot of people ask me about robotic lawn mowers is whether they have enough power to complete the entire lawn in one go. I can accept things breaking prematurely, but I don't accept companies putting zero effort into fulfilling simple and reasonable requests especially when it comes to keeping things out of landfill. This could be an easy win for them. Shifting to robot lawn mowers is the need of the hour, especially if you cannot spend extra time on lawn maintenance for some reason. You might think, which is the best mower among the eight we listed today? The Flymo EasiLife 250 Go also comes with a charging base that has been designed to sit anywhere around a lawn's edge, including corners. It also features LawnSense and FrostSense sensors, which allow the mower to automatically adapt its mowing schedule according to the weather. For easy setup and usage: Robomow RC306: One of the most advanced robot grass cutters, RC306 utilizes the latest technologies to provide you with astounding services. It’s incredibly versatile to take care of a lawn with endless obstacles, but never makes much noise while working. Its comes with a Bluetooth interface and smartphone app that helps you to remotely control the mower. Frequently Asked Questions The LawnMaster L10 comes with a charging station, power adaptor, 250 pegs, 150 metres of perimeter wire and tools needed to set up (Image credit: Steven Jenkins) First time with the LawnMaster L10

Price range: Autonomous mowers are not affordable when compared to other versions. However, entry-level models are available at comparatively lower prices when compared to high ends options. No matter what is the price tag, you need to make sure that the machine can cover your lawn. There is no point spending on a tool that cannot maintain your garden properly. If your garden is slightly sloped, that shouldn’t be an issue for the LawnMaster L10 since it is capable of mowing on slopes up to 35%. Blades Even that has not going smoothly. They gave me s number which was not correct for DPD to turn up and collect the machine and a time slot. DPD did not turn up.

We take the LawnMaster L10 robot mower for a spin to find out if its finally time to say goodbye to manual mowing

Charging your LawnMaster VBRM16 takes barely any time at all. Simply attach it to the charger, plug it in and it’ll be ready in around one hour! Navigation System What do I mean by this? Well, unlike most robotic mowers, this one isn’t designed to be left outside all the time. It’s a drop and go machine which can be charged indoors and then you simply need to pop it on the ground and let it do its thing. There are many advantages to this which I’ll dive into in my LawnMaster VBRM16 review. Edge cutting: No robot mower can edge your lawn as well as you can but some can trim closer to your flower beds than others. To reduce secondary mowing, look out for models with offset blades.

Object avoidance: A feature that all robot vacuums have but rarely seen on robot mowers, certainly at the lower end of the price spectrum. A good safety feature for those with pets or kids who play in the garden unsupervised. As with all robotic lawn mowers the LawnMaster VBRM16 is a mulching mower. This essentially means that it doesn’t collect the clippings as this simply wouldn’t be feasible with such a compact machine. The IPX rating also means you can easily wash the L10 without having to worry about water ingress. You don’t need a high powered pressure washer to clean, just standard hose pressure will suffice. The boundary wire is the only guidance they have, and they will move around your garden for a set period or until they need to return to their base station for a recharge. Instead, when you first get the robot, you only need to charge the removable battery using the separate charging unit. It comes partially charged and I found it was fully charged within 30 minutes. Remove it from the charger and slot it into the cavity on the rear of the mower, and it’s good to go. The battery should last around three hours and only takes an hour to charge from empty. With the boundary wire in place you need to finish the set up by connecting to the base station and a power outlet. On the plus side the L10 comes with a long power cable which gives you options to place the charging base pretty much wherever you want without the need for an extension cable.
