In any given week we may fluctuate between 3-4 levels. A good way to find out which your base level is is to observe how you react and perform under pressure or in otherwise stressful situations.
Many people who spend a lot of time on this level accept failure and sorrow as part of their life. Individuals in grief see life as sad and the world as a sad place. Try to identify in which areas you are operating from a higher level of consciousness and start to align with this state of being. You may find that you can transmit this higher level of consciousness to the areas where you are acting from a lower level of consciousness. This is the level of saints, spiritual healers, and advanced spiritual teachers. Being in the presence of such people makes you feel amazing and already raises your level of consciousness. I see this as the level of awakening to your true purpose. Your motives at this level are pure and uncorrupted by the desires of the ego. This is the level of lifetime service to humanity. Think Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Dr. Albert Schweitzer. At this level you also begin to be guided by a force greater than yourself. It’s a feeling of letting go. Your intuition becomes extremely strong. Even though you fear things you still act and move forward. Challenges that would have defeated you on the lower levels are stimulating on the level of courage. Fear fills a person with anxiousness and terror. It can be of anything; it can be a fear of getting rejected, fear of not scoring good marks, fear of getting old, fear of difficult situations, etcetera. Such people have withdrawal symptoms, and they feel that the Supreme Master is punishing them. Fearfulness is contagious and can lead to paranoia. The media plays a big role in infecting whole societies with fears by feeding them fearful thoughts. At the level of 500 we reach the level of Love, in the real sense of the world, not the worldly sense seen in Hollywood. Love in this context is a way of being in the world. According to Dr. Hawkins, the reason the level of love is so difficult to achieve is because our ego is so rooted in the physical domain as opposed to the spiritual domain, which emerges at 500. The 500s represent a difficult hurdle, as only 4% of the world’s population calibrate above this level. It denotes a shift from the linear, provable domain (as mentioned before, the newtonian paradigm) to the nonlinear, formless, spiritual realm. Of course, people operating below this level of consciousness see people above this level as mystical and perhaps in the clouds. But that is because they are seeing the world with a different lens, by operating at a higher level of consciousness. So at the big hurdle of 500, we see the following:

This level is higher than apathy because by feeling something you are at least starting to escape the numbness. Grief is a state of loss and sadness, and most of us have experienced it for a period of time. At the lower level, we just accept reality as it is. But at the middle level, we start believing that we can change reality, which is nothing but the mirror of our own thoughts. By doing this, we come close to neutrality. Contrary to what it sounds like, acceptance is not passive but proactively taking part in life. When something doesn’t suit you anymore you make a decision and initiate change.

While they are highly dependent, society often considers individuals on this level as a burden and drain of resources. Therefore, the motivation to help such individuals is often low. Many people feel even disgusted towards the homeless and others at this level of consciousness. Using a unique muscle-testing method, Dr. David R. Hawkins conducted more than 250,000 calibrations during 20 years of research to define a range of values, attitudes, and emotions that correspond to levels of consciousness.
