A microfibre pad will give good paint-cleaning action but for super easy polishing we can’t help like the Autoglym polish sponge; it’s better than it looks! Yes, use MER ‘Ultimate Shine Polish’ to clean and give your motor home or caravan great shine then use MER ‘Deep Gloss Finishing Wax’ for both a deeper gloss shine and help protect it from the elements. It is not critical to use both, but doing so will give much better overall performance and finish. A polish is effectively an ‘all in one clean, shine and protect’ product. By contrast, a wax gives deeper gloss and better/longer protection but without the cleaning performance of a polish. We received just the bottle pictured above and no cloth, so you will have to buy your own if you don’t already have one, some sponges would help apply the wax too. Their Tripple car polishis a fantastic all-in-one which means it cleans, polishes & protects your paint at the same time. MER ‘High Shine Shampoo’ removes ingrained dirt to leave paintwork ready for polishing. It can also be used as a general wash followed by the MER ‘Deep Gloss Finishing Wax’ which will give your vehicle protection for up to 4 months. We definitely used a lot more of the liquid wax than we did of the hard wax, so there is that to keep in mind. This would maybe only do 2 or 3 applications before it was all finished. Were as with a hard wax, we have done 3 applications already and hardly touched them, they will last a lot longer. T-Cut remains a household name when it comes to polish, and we can see why from the results that this colour-specific polish delivered. It’s intended to be particularly good for deeper scratches, with the pigment of the polish helping to blur out the damage. It works, too. We had a lightly vandalised white Corsa in mind when we chose to try this T-Cut product, and the polish worked wonders on the key-mark, polishing out the worst of it out so that it was only visible where the scratch was very deep. It also comes with great polish and buffing pads.

Ultimate Compound however, removes fine defects whilst leaving a very sharp finish which would look like new paint once finished with a paste wax. Highly recommended for spot repair or all over with a machine. MER ‘Deep Gloss Finishing Wax’ will cover up swirl marks however, MER ‘Ultimate Shine Polish’ will, in most cases, remove swirls and holograms.

This polish is very good, but if you like extra shine or want to extend the time between polishing, we recommend you top this polish off with one of their quality car waxes. This means it contains no wax or sealant and therefore requires a further application to protect your clean, bare paint after polishing. It was harder to remove and then buff off with the second cloth but the shine it gave was impeccable.
