About this deal

Piano, Harmonica, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Guitar Banjo [Banjo Guitar], Lead Vocals – Neil Young Bad Fog Of Loneliness [...] Recorded [...] at Quadraphonic, Nashville, TN, February 6, 1971 [...] Published by Silver Fiddle Music (ASCAP)

All I said is what other people wrote about it right here in SHF and made a few general remarks about what these other members wrote and how that impacted my options. The Nautilus series is not very consensual among audiophiles and people who care about the best possible sound quality and mastering. Many issues keep arising about questionable EQ on some albums, questionable sources that were used... I've never felt the need to get the Nautilus version of any album that I really like because when I run my investigation (as I always do before choosing) it seems like there's always some better version that is also easier to find. I'm sure there are exceptions to this, but as of yet it never happened with any LP that I really care about. Dance Dance Dance [...] Recorded [...] at Quadraphonic, Nashville, TN, February 7, 1971 [...] Published by Broken Arrow Music (BMI) Previously unreleased version.Contains an excerpt from A Month In The Brazilian Rainforest (RCD 30180) "Dawn Chorus" ℗ 1990 Rykodisc - Recorded by Ruth Happel Matrix / Runout (Harvest Time DVD): 0093624881704-01 DM71332-01 manufactured by optimal media GmbH [One-Red "R" logo] DM71332-01 L1 Out On The Weekend, Journey Through The Past & Heart Of Gold published by Silver Fiddle Music (ASCAP) As part of the Neil Young Archives Official Release Series ongoing project, the first four Neil Young studio albums were remastered from the original analog Master Tapes and reissued on vinyl in 2009. These have come to market in several shapes like 140gr vinyl, 180gr vinyl and a boxset with all four albums, for the US and European markets. This article focuses on the fourth album "Harvest" that for me is one of the best music albums ever made, I like it so much that I really had to find what is the all time ultimate mastering and pressing of this masterpiece and I want to share my findings with you.

Journey Through The Past [...] Recorded [...] at Quadraphonic, Nashville, TN, April 4, 1971 [...] Published by Broken Fiddle Music (ASCAP) Previously unreleased version. I did NOT, and will NOT, write anything about how the Nautilus Harvest compares to the other two LP's being discussed because of the simple fact that I have not heard it. I did try to explain why I have not heard it and why I never felt it was a "must hear" Harvest mastering, again based on what most experienced users here had to say about it. I don't see how this can be wrong in any way, but please do correct me if this is not acceptable for some reason... Matrix / Runout (BBC In Concert DVD): 0093624881704-02 DM71333-01 manufactured by optimal media GmbH [One-Red "R" logo] DM71332-01 L1 Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge. The first of the two DVDs is the video performance of BBC In Concert, while the second is the previously unreleased two-hour documentary called Harvest Time. This should be amazing as it captures the making of the album from start to finish and was directed by Neil Young and his film crew in 1971.

All runout details are hand etched. The faintly inscribed "geometric" marks (e.g. '1+' and '1V') are mirrored. The Nautilus is mentioned a couple of times on threads that are not specifically about Neil Young albums (more about the Nautilus series itself) but usually the Nautilus Harvest LP is deemed to be slightly inferior to both the CB reissue and the LH original... the main discussion has always been centered around these two versions. I can't say anything about that because I've never heard the Nautilus version. The Other Shoe Productions, Inc. Under exclusive license to Reprise Records. Made in Germany. 093624881704 To clarify, the vinyl box is 2LP+7″+2DVD, while the CD box is 3CD+2DVD. Both sets come with a poster and a hardcover book which includes never-before-seen photos along with extensive sleeve notes by photographer Joel Bernstein.

Vocals [Singers] – Astrid Young, Ben Keith, James Taylor (2), Larry Cragg, Linda Ronstadt, Nicolette Larson Mostly, though, the Young we get here resembles the Young we already know: the one who we first met on his rootsy-yet-metaphysical 1972 breakout album, Harvest, then again later on Comes a Time, in 1978. This is the Young who feels most at home expressing himself with a few simple piano or guitar chords, some lonesome harmonica notes, and the ragged inflections of his nasal, warbling voice—taking what can read like surface-level observations on paper, or even straight-up clichés, and making them feel like illuminations of some distant and unknowable truth. Harvest Outtakes is a small hole 7" issued in a shrink wrapped matte picture sleeve with top opening.
