About this deal

In a 2012 interview with VH1, she revealed that she started smoking marijuana aged 11 and by 13 was taking drugs like ecstasy, PCP and even crystal meth. It wasn't until a brush with death aged 15 that she decided to call it quits with the drugs. This is an attractively presented book filled with glossy photos of her performances, media appearances and behind-the-scenes stills that will look stunning as a hardcover coffee table book. This is a celebration of a phenomenal career - and an incredible life. Lyrically, “Raise Your Glass” takes delight in being “loud and nitty-gritty dirty little freaks,” but it never gets much more specific than that. Pink sings about being wrong in the right way, being an underdog, but she doesn’t say what that means. In the video, things become a little more clear. A lot of the clip is pure silliness — Pink pretending to be a bull who defeats a matador, Pink sumo-wrestling with the Monopoly guy. But Pink also poses as Rosie The Riveter, a clear pop-feminist statement, and director Dave Meyers shows Pink playing guitar at a gay wedding. The shot of two guys kissing is immediately followed by Pink dressing up as a cholo for the “call me up if you a gangsta” line, which probably wasn’t necessary, but that kiss is in there. American Music Awards 2010: Pregnant Pink shows off baby bump on red carpet NY Daily News Retrieved 2010-11-23 Of course, with a career that's lasted nearly two decades, there's bound to be a few stories to tell. So, we've done our best Angela Lansbury impression and done some investigating into the surprising stories behind her biggest hits… As with most of the album, Pink wasn't afraid to get personal. "I don't know how to keep my own secrets," she said. "I can keep other people's secrets. … It's hard, after the fact, when everybody knows everything about you, and you're like, 'Damn, I shouldn't have said that.' But I don't think about it at the time. I think it's good because the deeper inside you go the more you're related to somebody else, because life is life – everybody goes through the same things." Danish single certifications – Pink – Raise Your Glass". IFPI Danmark . Retrieved January 31, 2023.Like a lot of the album, Pink wanted to get into the nitty gritty of who she was a person. Sitting down with Dallas Austin, she decided she wanted to write a song that dealt with her youth. "I used to be on drugs, I should write a song about it," she said to the L.A. Times. "When you're young, you think your ideas are so clever." Instead, Pink found solace in music, and as early as the age of 13 she was navigating the complicated Philadelphia club scene. By the time she was 14, she was already an experienced vocalist and dancer, and started to write her own songs. She also had a regular singing gig every Friday night at a Philly nightclub. But it proved to be a hard life for her to manage, as she was swallowed by a world of drugs (she nearly overdosed at the age of 15) and petty crime. She eventually dropped out of high school before returning to earn her G.E.D. in 1998. She consistently out-sings her contemporaries with hit songs such as, "Get the Party Started," "Just Like a Pill," "So What," "What About Us," and "Beautiful Trauma," while her willingness to speak frankly about difficult topics has made her a relatable role model. She is an outspoken animal rights activist, and has been vocal about women's rights, LGBT rights, and her support of same-sex marriage.

Pink has a huge heart as an animal rights advocate to LGBTQ rights, and acceptance of differences of all kinds. She is a strong woman, advocate, loving mother, legendary singer and performer, and she's a winemaker!! I'm really jealous about the winemaking part - lol. I can't wait to see her in concert and hope it's this summer. Let's raise your glass to that! Raise Your Glass (liner notes). Pink. "I went into the studio and I didn't know what I was going to sing and 20 minutes later I was crying and didn't really remember what I did," she said. I find that there's always one person in the relationship that's feeling a lot more than the other person," Pink continued. "I feel like sometimes I'm like, 'The way you passed me the butter this morning, I kinda feel like we're going to be over in a month and we need to talk', and he's like, 'I just passed you the f**king butter, what are you talking about?'"Geselowitz, Gabriela (10 May 2011). Much of the content is referenced from interviews and articles Pink has given throughout her lengthy career, and it explores both the highs and lows of the journey. Her genre-defying style has led her to working with some of the greats within the music industry and her acumen has ensured she has remained ahead of the trends. In several sequences Pink is shown depicting the iconography of Rosie the Riveter on the " We Can Do It!" poster. Obviously with Missundazstood, Pink was mining into the darkest parts of her life, and no song delved deeper than 'Family Portrait'. Despite the song's success (it charted in the top 10 in both the US and the UK), Pink told The L.A. Times, that she hated performing the song. "I wish I could burn that song and never sing it again," she said.

I never realised until I listened to that song and listened to all the words just how much the divorce had affected her," Pink's mother said. I walked away with a huge appreciation for Pink’s talent, artistry, determination and straight forwardness. The song was featured in a commercial for the 2011 film Bridesmaids, and in the theatrical trailers for the films What's Your Number? and New Year's Eve. [3] Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko danced the tango to the song on the premiere of Dancing with the Stars. So What” also happens to be a very good song, so that was probably also helpful to Pink. None of the other songs on Pink’s Funhouse album hit anywhere near as hard as “So What,” and it’s a little disorienting to be listening to Greatest Hits… So Far!!! when a non-hit like “I Don’t Believe You” pops up. (Like a lot of that era’s greatest-hits collections, Greatest Hits… So Far!!! is way too long. Pink would’ve absolutely crushed in the “10 song greatest-hits album that you buy on cassette at a gas station” days.) But Pink toured Funhouse hard, and she became a kind of pop-music road dog, an arena-sized act whose fortunes didn’t necessarily depend on arbitrary pop-chart placements or the vagaries of the album cycle.P!nk - Raise Your Glass - Sony Music Entertainment Germany GmbH".
