About this deal

Basic operation of the PO-33 and PO-35 will be familiar if you’ve used any of the previous models, but otherwise takes a little getting used to. You work with one sound slot at a time, chosen by holding the Sound button and tapping one of the 16 number buttons. You can then either play it freeform using the number buttons as note/slice triggers, or you can step sequence it by entering Write mode and adding triggers within the 16-step sequence using the same buttons. Real-time pattern recording is also possible by holding down the Write button while tapping out notes. Green squares in scales mean the root note. If you’ve got a sample of note C and want to play in C Major, you need to move it to button 7 (it’s the root for Major). To do so, lower the sample by 3 semitones (that’s what +3 in the name of the scale means). Now your sample is A (on button 5 as always) and button 7 has C. if the alleged defect arises because customer has altered or repaired the product without the prior written consent or authorization of teenage engineering;

press FX until (tri) is displayed in the top right corner. Turn knob A to set the start of the sound and knob B to set the length of the sound. In the drum section each slice can be adjusted individually (the last triggered slice will be adjusted). parameter knobs, A (left) & B (right) are located below the screen on the right of the unit. They are used to modify parameters such as pitch, decay, bpm & swing etc. The targeted parameters depend on the mode that you're in or the sound you have selected.

the pocket operator family.

Tip: Copying a melodic sound into a drum slot will automatically slice the melodic sound into 16 parts. This can be an easier way to load drum kits. Start by recording a drum loop into a melodic slot, capturing a little extra sound after the end of the loop. Use this excess as a guide. Trim the excess as close as possible (the trim pots are jumpy!), then copy the sound into a drum slot. It's possible you might have to do a little adjusting, but in general this is more reliable than PO-33's transient detection. Making a Song Pattern Chaining Equipped with a built-in microphone, the PO-33 KO enables you to capture sounds from your surroundings, transforming everyday noises into musical elements. This feature encourages experimentation and brings a unique and personal touch to your compositions. Furthermore, the micro sampler allows you to import sounds from other sources via its audio input, giving you even more creative flexibility. Unleash Your Creativity Instead of 16 effects, speak has 8 voice modes assignable to your samples and 8 effects. Here is a list from the manual with a short description of each: Despite its minimalist appearance, the PO-33 KO features an intuitive interface with clear and accessible controls. Its small form factor and battery-powered operation make it highly portable, allowing you to take your music-making endeavors anywhere you go. Additionally, the built-in speaker ensures that you can instantly share your creations with others without the need for additional equipment. with PO-33, sample any sound source using line in or the built in microphone. melodic mode lets you play chromatic melodies and drum mode lets you play drums. sequence it all and add effects on top.

Hold FX and press any key from 1-15. If write mode is enabled the effects will be saved in the pattern. To clear the saved effects make sure write mode is enabled while holding FX + key 16, otherwise the effects are temporarily bypassed. The Office literally uses sounds sampled from an office environment. We’re talking floppy disks, keyboards, the works. Its advanced sequencer also allows you to incorporate additional drum and synth sounds to build unique, organic-sounding grooves. You’ve got 16 sounds in total, with 128 patterns (and chaining), 16 built-in effects and a unique solo function. To enter/exit rec mode, press write. Enter sound/notes in grid. The last sound you played with be the active sound. Active steps will be lit. Press play to listen to your pattern. Live ModeDefault mode is SY0. When sync is used the signal will be split between audio (right) and sync (left). The first surprising thing about the sequencer is that it can save 16 patterns. A pattern is basically one cycle of 16-steps that you save to one of 16 slots. This feature is important because you can chain patterns together to create longer sequences and potentially full songs. It’s not a surprising feature of a sequencer in general, but it’s fantastic at this price and size. If you have a pattern much longer than 16-steps, you can record in live mode across the entire length; pretty cool. Tempo Controls The PO-12 is a drum machine and sequencer with 16 sounds to choose from. The sounds are a combination of synthesized and sampled drum sounds, and the overall character is kinda old-school 808-style. You can save up to 16 patterns and switch between them on the fly. You can also apply and save effects to your patterns, as well as tweak the individual drum sounds to individualise your ideas.
