Lydia Ainsworth: Lydia is the previous Iceblade Sorcerer who became Ray's mentor and adoptive mother. She raised and trained Ray to gain the Iceblade Magic that even more powerful than his mentor. He accidentally injured his mentor's leg causing her to discharged from the Seven Grand Sorcerers due to her injuries. When having to enroll the Arnold Academy of Magical Arts, she tells to Ray to never reveal to anyone of his identity as the Iceblade Sorcerer this was until Helena Grady's betrayal. The animation alone isn't the worst thing in the anime spectrum but compared to the manga panels its pretty bad. I know that comparing moving frames to a single picture is unfair, but seeing as how the manga panels captured my eyes and made me want to read more, the animation just leaves me with a feeling of just laziness and bland effort. Not to mention the styles of the characters which are now the most basic anime characters I have ever seen, while in the manga they are somewhat unique with how they look. Seeing as how this is cloud hearts first released anime I don't want to be too hard on them so I praise them for working on this and at least trying. An addictive manga with a classic feel sure to appeal to fantasy and isekai fans alike, from the editorial team behind FAIRY TAIL 100 Years Quest and Shaman King: FAUST8. The first time I saw it I just thought the character designs looked so weird and plain. I’m still not the biggest fan of them, but they have grown on me along with the story. The animation is pretty bad though. All of the fight scenes are subpar. Especially Amelia’s little battle arc. Someone once told me that you can’t have great animation and good character development. This anime adds a little fan service to certain episodes and especially in the ending, but in my opinion, instead of fan service, it's better to focus on the storyline to make it more interesting.

Arianne finds when she gets close to Amelia she is teleported away instead. Carol confirms the spell is an Original unique to Amelia’s Engram that manipulates Causality so that no matter where Ariane moves Amelia causes her to move somewhere else. All stories have really been done before, so it comes down to execution to keep things entertaining and I think the execution of the characters in this one was good despite the generic overpowered guy at magical academy who everyone thinks is weak plot line. This anime was a big surprise to me. I came here expecting a very generic plot and character, which I guess was true in some ways, but I saw much more than that. The more I watched the anime the more I got intrigued by the plot and everything. A rather mediocre OP MC Fantasy anime, though I found it quite enjoyable thanks to an inspiring MC and a wide cast of secondary characters who are decently likeable. My first thoughts on this anime after reading some of the manga was that the studio messed up big time.
