About this deal

This 15m extension cable can be used on its own or as part of the Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro. This system is a modular solution that combines multiple USB Active Extension Pro cables and a USB 3.0 Active Extension Pro hub. It enables the distribution of USB signals to up to 4 devices at distances of up to 40m (depending on the cable configurations used). There are ways you can extend a USB cable, the first being with an active repeater extension cable. These cables will act like normal extension cables but have technology inside them to boost your cable’s technology. If you have a USB 3 cable and use an active extension cable, the speed of the cable should not be reduced. The type C connection cable is the same on both sides, which means it can be plugged into a port either way round. Its narrow and small shape means that it is ideal for use with phones and smaller electronic devices. Modern computers and game consoles are starting to make use of this adapter cable, replacing the older types.

USB 3.0, USB 3.1 and USB 3.2 PCs, cables and devices are all compatible with each other, when using either a USB Type A or USB Type C host interface. But if you're going for distance, or you want to absolutely guarantee the quality of your connection, then an active USB extension cable is a great way to do it. This can also be of paramount importance when you're dealing with something like a virtual reality headset, or particularly high-quality display or monitor. There's little point in you buying a high-end display (head-mounted or otherwise) to only send its data down a poor-quality cable that won't be able to deliver a quality image. A passive USB cable can reach around 16 feet comfortably when operating at USB 2.0 speeds, though faster USB 3.0 and 3.1 specifications don't suggest you go over nine feet with a passive cable. Higher quality cables might let you go beyond that, but you will likely start to face problems of signal degradation over that limit while operating at higher speeds. If you need to extend multiple devices or connect a USB device with high power requirements, you should use the 10m Hub Pro unit (No. 43159) with its power supply as the final part of the extension. If a USB Type C device is to be connected, a USB 3.0 Active Extension Type A to C (no. 43375 or 43376) can also be used as the last segment. With its USB A male and USB A female connector it allows Type A devices such as storage devices, webcams and other Type A devices to be connected at longer distances to PCs, laptops and tablets, while also ensuring flexible positioning. Up to 2 extension cables can be chained together to achieve a distance of 20m.

The 8m and 12m cable, and the 8m and 12m hub feature a single active repeater module to boost the USB signal. The 30m cable uses two repeaters. A fully deployed extension system is limited to a maximum of 60m and 4 repeater modules. Any combination of cables and a single hub can be connected providing the 60m / 4 repeater limit is not exceeded. The extension hub must always be the last segment of the extension system. This 8m USB 3.2 C/A Active Extension Cable can be used standalone or as part of the Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro. This system is a modular solution that can combine multiple USB Active Extension Pro cables and a USB 3.0 Active Extension Pro hub to distribute USB signals to up to 4 devices at about 40m (depending on the cable configurations used). Can be used standalone or as part of the Lindy Active Extension System Pro to create bespoke extension systems of over 40m (depending on the cables used) Due to transfer speeds, different cable types come with recommended length limits. For instance, a USB 2.0 cable has an advisable length of no more than 5 metres. A USB 3.0 cable has a length limit of 3 metres, otherwise, its ‘super speed’ transfer technology may be affected. If you would like to use this cable as part of combined Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro installation, please note the requirements below. You can also use hubs to extend your cable. These are a cable with a box, with multiple ports for you to plug in your cable. They can come with a plug end that is plugged into mains, or with a bus end that plugs into a port. However, if you use a hub with a bus end, you could find that you lose cable speed, due to a loss in power. The first unit connected to your computer must always be the USB 3.0 Active Extension Pro 8m (No. 43158) or 15m (No. 43229). Once the first cable is connected, you can cascade additional Extension System Pro cables to extend the distance up to a maximum of 40m. What is an active USB cable? It's a cable that can make your USB connection go far further by extending it and repeating the signal to retain its quality along the extra wiring. How long can an active USB cable be? High performance, active cable that provides an extended 20m connection between a computer and USB 3.0 device The Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable is compatible with all USB Type A equipped computers. The cable's unique and slim design allows installation in narrow surroundings - an advantage over other active USB leads which use bulky connectors.

The final part of the extension can be any segment of the Extension Pro System (Nr. 43157, 43158, 43229, 43361). If you need to extend multiple devices or if you connect a USB device with high power requirement, then you should use the 10m Hub Pro unit (Nr. 43159) with it’s power supply as the final part of the extension. This 20m extension cable can be used standalone or - for even greater distances - be connected to the 8m or 10m version of the USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro (No. 43157 or No. 43158).Active USB extension cables, on the other hand, can go much further. There are active USB 2.0 and 3.0 extension cables that can reach up to 33 feet – although 4K-ready USB-C 3.1 cables max out at around 10 feet.
