About this deal

a b c d "Professor Chris Whitty". Gresham College. Archived from the original on 24 September 2013 . Retrieved 6 March 2020.

Hilary says, " I am passionate about enabling people – especially the elderly (more so as I join their ranks) - to get out and about and engage with life. I remember taking a phone call from a lady who had just learned that the scheduled bus service - her lifeline - was being cancelled because the council couldn’t subsidise it. She was crying, my heart was breaking. And then we put PlusBus in place. Result! What community transport is all about." An 80-year-old man lives at home alone. He has mobility difficulties, his family live far away, and there is no bus stop nearby. He feels acutely alone and listens to the radio for some semblance of company. Whitty continues: "If humans on the surface are being reset to the Stone Age every several thousands of years, and these people are somewhere where they are more protected because they are underground, then perhaps their development in technology and intelligence is continuing on an upwards trajectory whereas we're reset." It is partly the absence of a valuation system at commissioning level that has spurred the CT sector to create its own approach. The Toolkit enables commissioners, funders and supporters to gain a much clearer understanding of what a financial investment into CT will do, and how it impacts on a wider range of stakeholders. Commissioners routinely requiring a social valuation report as part of a bidding process is still some way off, but the CT sector (thanks in part to ECT Charity’s forward-thinking) is able to pre-empt this. If social valuation can be embedded in the annual reporting process, this would enable CT operators to be stronger, more comprehensively appreciated and better able to withstand external scrutiny. ECT Charity is currently developing a template Social Value Statement to make reporting for CT operators even easier.

Where to watch

Under Anna’s leadership, ECT has become a leading charity in the UK, particularly within the Community Transport sector,” he said. “We have had the privilege of being selected to provide accessible transport for spectators to attend the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics Games, the Rugby World Cup, the inaugural Invictus Games and the World Athletics and Para Athletics Championships. Caroline began her career as a lawyer at an international corporate law firm in London, where she worked on Commercial Real Estate and Corporate & Commercial matters. During her five years at the firm, she was also involved in a wide variety of pro bono work and volunteering projects. Caroline then transitioned to the social sector and was accepted onto the social enterprise leadership program, On Purpose. In addition to her placement with ECT Charity, Caroline worked at Ben & Jerry’s on the strategy and execution of their Social Mission across Europe. The cuts in public sector funding have been especially challenging for the community transport (CT) sector – despite CT being able to provide both value to communities and savings to the public purse. The Department for Transport’s (DfT) move to revise the s19 and s22 permit operating system has caused additional uncertainty. From 2009 to 2015, Whitty was Chief Scientific Adviser and director of research for the Department for International Development (DFID). [10] [3] [14] He led the Research and Evidence Division, which worked on health, agriculture, climate change, energy, infrastructure, economic and governance research. During this time, with co-authors Neil Ferguson and Jeremy Farrar, he wrote an article in Nature titled "Infectious disease: Tough choices to reduce Ebola transmission", [15] explaining the UK government's response to Ebola in support of the government of Sierra Leone, which he took a leading role in designing, including the proposal to build and support centres where people could self-isolate voluntarily if they suspected that they could have the disease. [16] Next is “ Filiberto Cardenas Encounter,” where he claimed to have been taken to a secret underwater hangar, and interestingly, his abduction was witnessed by his friend’s family.

One [option] is that it’s a straight-off-the-bat weather balloon, and everything else is a figment of everyone else’s imagination. Two, it’s an extraterrestrial visitation. Three, could the Russians have been playing psychological war games with Mengele and developing their own aliens from young children? Clutton-based Stephen Peter Morgan OBE has been awarded a CBE for philanthropic services through the Morgan Foundation. Roswell 75: The Final Evidence takes us on a journey through the mystery, myth and misconceptions of the world’s most infamous UFO story. Did a mysterious craft from another world crash at Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947? Were aliens alive, wounded or possibly recovered? Roswell 75: The Final Evidence is a two-hour documentary premiering on BLAZE on Thursday 7th July at 9 pm. BLAZE is available on Freeview 64, Freesat 162, Sky 164 and Virgin Media 216. If in classic 1950s style, if a UFO landed on the White House lawn tomorrow, I think at this point I'm going to go. 'I thought so,' because I just think anything's possible. I really do.Both businesses started the crisis from a solid financial position and enough cash reserves to weather the crisis at least for some time, which allowed them to continue to put mission first.
