About this deal

This saturated solution is contained within a water-vapor permeable “reverse osmosis” membrane. Within a closed desktop humidor Bóveda maintains a predetermined level of (RH) by releasing or absorbing purified water-vapor—as needed—through the membrane.

RH — For Cuban cigars because Cuban cigars are tightly bound and tend to mold at a higher RH level. We recommend this RH for long-term storage of oily tobacco commonly found in Puro cigars from one territory. As we sincerely love Boveda so much, we sought to develop a special relationship with by becoming ambassadors for the brand. Therefore, before detailing the different ways that you can use Boveda for your cigar storage solutions, let us expand on why we believe it’s the best option to use.

100% Satisfaction

RH — For cigars in drafty humidors and extreme environments, the 75% accommodates a high amount of moisture loss allowing the humidor to maintain a high 60s RH level. Also recommended for humidors housed at high altitudes and in desert-like conditions (use at your own discretion). Bóveda provides the cleanest and most purified humidity of all other products available on the market today. However, we wouldn’t usually recommend smoking them at this level. While some people do and it’s a matter of personal preference, we will instead acclimate them to a higher RH level beforehand.

Furthermore, traditional types of humidification devices will release concentrated amounts of moisture around a fixed perimeter, which may not always diffuse throughout the humidor. Although the process it’s longer than traditional methods, it’s considerably thorougher. Therefore, it’s our recommend approach. If you weren’t aware of this essential process, we highly recommend that you look into it as a dry humidor isn’t just ineffective but detrimental to your cigars. For instance, we’re not the only ones to have discovered the benefits of using low RH levels for long-term storage. If you’re seeking to age your cigars over the course of several years, you might want to consider a lower moisture level to optimise the process. Some argue that the precise temperature isn’t quite as important as long as it’s consistent. Nevertheless, we tend to aim to simulate cellar conditions of between 10°C (50°F) to 15°C (60°F).Remove your cigars from your humidor and move them into a closed Tupperware® container, cooler or a Humidor Bag with 69% Boveda. Boveda 58% RH versus 62% RH for cannabis? It really comes down to personal preference. Try them both side-by-side to see which RH you like better with buds. Or follow these guidelines before buying Boveda for your flower for the first time. Nevertheless, these are usually relatively simple as they are often just glued or nailed into place. With a flat blade or screw-driver, they often pop right off. Still, be careful as you don’t want to damage the humidor and we can’t be held responsible if you do! Don’t use Boveda in the same humidor with other humidification products because they will fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.

is the optimal humidity for cigars in my opinion if you are using an Air Tight Tupperdor container. If you are using an old school wooden desk top that leaks humidity then the higher humidification will suit you better, is safer than the 72% for long aging. Smoking a cigar right out of the humidor @69% is really not a good idea from my experience. The first half will burn okay but will often not burn straight. Past the first half the moisture burning off from the first half should by now be saturating the end of the cigar and you will often encounter major burn issues with you cigar. Dissect a smoke nearing the final third and you will find the leaf inside to be extremely wet. In both cases, the hygrometer simply sits in the bag and you can then adjust its reading once 24 hours have elapsed.

Which Is The Right Relative Humidity Level For You?

Prevent the wood from robbing your cigar’s essential moisture. (Seasoning raises the wood’s moisture level so it’ll be in equilibrium with your cigars.) You may have heard of a salt method for calibrating a humidor where you use a bottle cap filled with salt and water in a container. However, these are actually very inaccurate given that the containers are rarely air-tight, the quantities of salt may vary, and they may have additives. The mindset that humidors needs to be kept at 72% needs to go away. These ideas come from a time when there was no two way humidification and most people kept their smokes in a wooden humidor that would leak humidity. Times are changing and despite their ugly aesthetics, Tupperware humidors are the SUPERIOR option as they do not leak humidity and can be filled with cedar trays. Because tupperdors are air tight there is no reason to keep humidity above 65%, and you actually benefit from this lower humidity. I need to experiment with 62% because i think that is even more ideal. RH — ONLY use to precondition (or season) a wood humidor WITHOUT cigars in it. This formula is specifically designed to provide moisture directly to the cellular structure of the wood humidor during the seasoning process. Once you’ve seasoned with Boveda, your humidor is primed for your most treasured cigars. Designed for glass and non-expensive humidors. This allows the humidor to stay at a consistent 60% RH after taking into account dissipation. These types of humidors aren't always fully airtight along with the various climates which is why it's perfect for this application.

Designed ONLY for seasoning a wood humidor WITHOUT cigars in it.This formula is specifically designed to provide moisture directly to the cellular structure of the wood humidor. The amount of moisture required is greater than the wipe down of it. If you haven’t seasoned with Boveda 84%, you haven’t seasoned at all! By the way, remember to remove them from their plastic wrapper first otherwise they won’t be activated! There are two versions available that are either 75% or 32% RH. You can use the 75% on its own, which will provide to 2.5% accuracy. Meanwhile, you can do the two-point calibration process where you also use the 32%, which brings it to 1.5% accuracy. In comparison, traditional humidification solutions will require frequent recharging to ensure that they don’t dry up.At Bespoke Unit, we have had many trial and error run-ins with a plethora of different humidity systems. When we discovered Boveda, we realised that they offered the most simplest and care-free solution. This special membrane allows Boveda to provide 2-way humidity control for cigars. Boveda compensates for the atmosphere inside your humidor. Whenever water vapour is needed, Boveda releases the cleanest and most purified humidity. Whenever there’s too much moisture in your humidor, Boveda absorbs the excess. These are available in small, medium, and large with the smallest allowing for 4 or 5 cigars while the largest can store several boxes.
