About this deal

The vloume of cleaners that I was testing at the time mean't we were consuming 50+ cans/bottles a week. I have had no issues with the turbo until last week when the car went into limp mode on the return journey on a trip. There was no warning light and when I went to use the car a few hours later it worked fine and hasn't done it since. We recommend that the Turbo Cleaners should be used on a regular basis every four thousand miles to clean out the Turbo Vanes, so you do not get the same problem again. Provides immediate thorough cleaning of air intake system, airflow sensor, inlet valves, turbo and EGR system. Products must be returned to RoughTrax at RoughTrax Ltd, Units 4-7 Pixash Business Centre, Pixash Lane, Keynsham, Bristol. BS31 1TP United Kingdom

If cars which were fed a diet of these expensive gloops all uniformly went on to acheive starship mileages, burning little fuel while doing so, there wouldn't be much debate. The fact there's a debate suggests to me that the additives aren't up to much. I'm championing the Alpina D3 S (in green, obviously) and the utterly stupid but interesting Audi Q7 V12 TDI. In 30 years I have only experienced one deisel pump failure as a direct result & that was due to a certain product disolving the nylon particle matter filter in the pump. Toyota Land Cruiser KDJ150R (LWB) 3.0cc (1KDFTV) Turbo Diesel (D4D) RHD (09 - 64 reg, 8/2009 onwards) UKSo anyone have any ideas how an exhaust gas can carry this cleaning mix or is the answer in the "condensed heavy hydrocarbons " which I assume occur as the exhaust gas starts to cool down after it has passed through the turbo. Turbochargers, the automotive worlds current solution to all customer needs. Need more power or torque from an engine? Turbocharger. Require lower emissions and a smaller engine size? Turbocharger. The efficiency, power and emissions standards required from modern engines have led the majority of vehicle manufacturers to offer nearly all product lines with turbo-enhanced combustion engines. They enable small engines to make large power outputs, without the extra emissions and size restraints imposed by a larger engine or one with a greater cylinder count. This is something that is becoming more relevant by the day, in an industry obsessed with environmental factors and carbon emissions. What I do notice on the adverts for this, is that there are no guarantees of it actually doing anything? Revive’s water-based formula is said to be bio-degradable and non-toxic, really emphasising the companies focus on environmental impact and sustainability. Simply sprayed into the inlet, after the air filter, the solution will pass through the turbo and engine to remove all build ups, though this may require multiple applications. Thanks to the large quantity provided, this product should support multiple uses. The first of the pour-in additives featured here comes from a firm based in the Netherlands, JLM lubricants. The company is just a decade old but, their use of high-quality testing and serious research is making a big impact on the fuel additive market. Professional level products for the regular consumers are what JLM specialise in, resulting in products such as their diesel turbo cleaner.

Toyota Land Cruiser KDJ155R (SWB) 3.0cc (1KDFTV) Turbo Diesel (D4D) RHD (09 - 64 reg, 8/2009 onwards) UK Turbo cleaning products are found in many varieties, the most common and widely available being pour-in or spray additives. Both can be used at home, without lots of specialist tools or knowledge. This can potentially save owners thousands on garage services, without the car leaving the driveway. Turbo Cleaning Pour-in Fuel Additive We recommend that the Forte Diesel Cleaner should be used at least every 4,000 miles or on a 4 monthly basis to clean out the turbo vains. First and foremost, an EGR valve cleaner should always be used a preventative measure, prevention is always better than cure! That said, an EGR valve cleaner can help resolve and cure problems once they arise. We strongly advise using an EGR valve cleaner regularly to prevent expensive problems further down the line. Our advise would always be to regularly use an EGR valve cleaner to prevent costly repair bills in the future. A powerful solvent formula is able to reduce emissions, restore performance and keep EGR and Carb systems working at their best.

Stalling– Depending on the severity of the issues with the EGR valve, your car may not be able to maintain it’s idle speed and may stall frequently. Again, this can be extremely dangerous when on the road. I would be wary of fuel system cleaners - where are they moving the crud to? I would be happier for it to stay in the low tech, cheap parts of my fuel system rather than clog my injectors, thanks all the same! I agree with number cruncher & wouldn't use engine flush unless it was used on a vehicle from new & used every time the oil was changed. I too have had disatrous results with engine flush.

The EGR valve is an integral part of the vehicle emissions system and if it isn’t functioning correctly, your car is likely to be producing far too many harmful emissions and will fail the MOT on the emissions produced. Can I Remove The EGR Valve? Biofuel Blends: If you’re using biodiesel or other biofuel blends, a diesel engine cleaner can help mitigate issues related to water and microbial growth in the fuel system. I don't think many people contributing to this forum have carried out enough research to tell you if some gloop in a tin works or not. I suspect not even HJ actually runs an engine testing lab, but if he has some serious statistically valid data, then I (doubtlessly among many!) would be interested to see them. I notice that whenever someone queries the efficacy of various fuel and oil additives the sceptics seem to outnumber the enthusiasts and I feel that a lot of the objections are on principle but not necessarily on experience. I notice from time to time HJ (whom God preserve) in his ST column recommends certain treatments so presumably some do work and I guess he would not be included in "the one born every minute" class that some people seem to regard users of these additives as being in.
