Coolants are divided into multiple categories, each with a unique set of additives and qualities. All of the antifreeze you see in stores are made of ethylene glycol and water. But that’s about where the similarities end. Although the pre-diluted product is obviously more convenient, you wind up spending far more for less coolant. Auto parts shops will sell a variety of aftermarket coolant brands in addition to the OE options. Just like motor oil, engine coolant also provides some lubrication to the internal components. When the consistency isn’t right or there’s not enough fluid, friction can occur. Often the percentage of ethylene glycol in the coolant is about 50% to 60% which allows for achieving the best performance. In its pure form, ethylene glycol is a colorless and viscous oily liquid that boils at 197°C (386.6 °F) and freezes at a temperature of -13 °C (8.6 °F).

You must be cautious when mixing engine coolant. The use of G12 coolant is prevalent in Volkswagen and Audi engines and it shouldn’t be mixed with any other type. This coolant also contains a minor amount of mineral additives because organic and inorganic chemicals were combined. It is neutral to inserts and hoses, compatible with all types of rubber and plastic components of a cooling system;
Some cars contain a viscous coupling to help overcome this. Mixing G11 coolant
High-performance 5-year engine coolants, suitable for modern vehicles from Asia requiring the use of a phosphate OAT product. A simple search of SSM-97B9103-A doesn't produce much useful information except to say the manual for a Ford Granada Scorpio also suggests this coolant as does possibly the Series 2 Escort RS Turbo. Electrolysis is a fun by-product of not changing coolant on time, and it has some very negative impacts on all things aluminum. As you can see in the picture below, electrical current traveling through the coolant seeking a path of least resistance, found its way out by creating new passages. Not a good thing long-term for your engine and all-aluminum parts in that system.
