About this deal

The Henry XL Plus is a bigger version of the classic Numatic vacuum with more tools and accessories. But is it worth buying? Let’s find out!

At 8kg plus a full bag, the Henry Xtra is not to be taken lightly and is best suited for those who need the extra capacity and don’t mind the slightly heavier overall weight. However, while it’s designed for the wet, this also excels in the dry. An impressive 15 litre storage capacity when dry makes it an ideal option for professional cleaners, but it is also light at only 7.1kgs and will be easy to get around the home. Henry comes with a two-year manufacturers warranty which is a year longer than the standard product warranty. The thing is though with Henry, you never really feel like there’s much chance of you needing it given how solid and reliable it feels. We have a James hoover at home and a classic Henry which we use for our cleaning business; you do certainly notice the difference in weight between the two. The James vacuum cleaner is far easier to move around with especially on the stairs. There’s always a frugal member of the family and James is it. Bright blue in colour he’s efficient to run and offers a different approach to storage and attachments.

George

At 7.5kg the Henry hoover is quite a chunky model. You won’t notice this too much as you move around on hard floors or low pile carpets for example as it will be easy enough to move it on its wheels. Even on higher pile carpets though it will take a bit more effort to pull it around as you vacuum. She’s been well designed with a small profile and cylindrical shape which makes her easy to store when you’re not using her. However, within that is plenty of power and space to store large amounts of dust and dirt. There is essentially no difference between the Hetty and Henry, other than her appearance. You can read our full review of this machine here. The good news is that the lower suction is partly counteracted by the EcoBrush tool – at least for smaller cleaning jobs. This is a small tool with a brush for agitating hairs and dirt from carpets, which improves cleaning performance. It’s not suitable for cleaning large areas though. The Henry XL and XL vacuum was released last year. His bigger capacity has proven to be popular especially with people who use Henry as part of their workforce. Numatic Henry XL Bags are bigger than standard ones. In exchange for the added half a kilo over and above the original Henry, you do also get an additional 3 litres of storage capacity (9litres).

The HVR200-11 uses 620W of power, making it one of the more energy efficient models on the market. The motor also provides excellent suction and is highly durable, while the large 9 litre capacity means you won’t need to empty it often. Other features include TriTex filters, HepaFlo bags and a cord-rewind system. There are different aspects of Henry vacuums that come with a class rating. Energy Efficiency is one, suction another. There may be more. As a general rule, Class A is the best you can buy. A Traditional Henry has an Energy Class A rating, for example. Other Considerations to Make Before Buying a Henry Vacuum Cleaner James was designed specifically to make things easier on users especially those who need to lug around the house or perhaps from one job to the next as a cleaner or builder. Staying true to Henry’s origin, James has been made to a professional standard meaning it’s comfortable in both home and commercial/trade settings. Harry is a lot like his older brother Henry except he’s been design specifically for pet lovers. So, if you have a few four-legged friends running around this could be for you. The Henry with the most versatility is probably the George. It cleans your curtains, cushions, carpets, hard floors, your car, your drains, and probably everything else in your life. Beyond that, the Henry vacuum cleaner range has a pet hair model, a wet/dry model, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The range is versatile within itself.Haven’t you always wanted a cleaner who could do pretty much everything? If so, George could be the man for you. Big green and friendly he’s great in the dry happy cleaning up spills, or scrubbing away stubborn stains. There is nothing he can’t handle. With a six Litre capacity, Hetty is the same size as the Henry 160-11, but is smaller than the Henry 200-11 which comes in at 9 litres. So is Hetty smaller than Henry? It all depends on which model you’re comparing against. If we were in the construction business, we could see the appeal of having Charles around for those messy post-build clean up jobs. If you have a standard Henry (or other varients), Hetty, Harry or James this you can buy standard Henry Bags Here The accessories that come with the Henry really enhance your vacuum cleaning experience. You get 3 tools with the Henry model and they each serve a particular purposes quite effectively:

While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape Charles is designed to shine in the wet – and this is indeed where it has the edge over the competition. Having a vacuum which can clean up spillages is a major bonus. If you’ve ever had a big spill in your home or even had a problem with the plumbing you know exactly how difficult it can be to clean it up. Not with a Charles in the house. How does the Henry XL Plus perform when cleaning though? And how does it compare to other cylinder vacuum cleaners? Read our Henry XL Plus review to find out. Overview of the Henry XL Plus Cylinder Vacuum’s Features

Henry Xtra

The large capacity ensures this isn’t a task you’ll need to do often, as even the messiest jobs will take a while to fill a 15 litre bag. The downside is you can’t clean the filter. Instead, you have to tap the dirt off or wipe it down with a dry cloth. Finally, there’s the AiroBrush 140, which is a smaller motorised turbo brush. This is a welcome addition to the Henry, as it’s a powerful accessory with a rotating brush bar for pulling embedded pet hair out carpets, sofas, and pet beds.

If you want the no-nonsense design of a Henry vacuum combined with the convenience of cordless, the HVB160 is an option to consider. It’s more expensive than the corded Henry and doesn’t have the longest run-time, but the strong suction and large capacity mean it’s much better suited to heavy cleaning than most cordless models. A unique aero-brush is great if you have pets in the house. It provides an outstanding level of cleaning with carpets and is the perfect tool for cleaning up pet hairs, as well as those bits of pet food that don’t quite stay in the bowl and other edibles such as cat grass. A hard floor brush means it can continue cleaning on hard floor surfaces while a 10m power cable provides extensive reach. But just because it is lighter doesn’t mean it doesn’t carry a big load as James has an 8-litre dust bin capacity a full 2 litres more than Henry. This is a great combination – lightweight design but bigger capacity than some of the others in the Henry range. British manufacturer Numatic International has expanded the Henry Hoover range over the years to provide their first vacuum cleaner with some much needed company. There’s now fourteen different products in the Henry range, including a number of different Henry Hoover names which make up the Henry Hoover family. There’s Hetty, who’s also known as the female Henry Hoover, as well as James, Harry, George and Charles, the latter two which are wet and dry vacuums. He offers a combination of a highly efficient Twin-flo bypass vacuum motor and a Powerflo pump system which delivers professional cleaning standards anywhere and at any time. It draws much of its design from the Numatic Cleantec range of professional vacuum cleaners designed to deliver unbeatable professional results every single time.We have covered just about everything there is you need to know before you make your choice. The Henry vacuum cleaner range is extensive and iconic. There is a high chance that they will be the only thing to survive a nuclear explosion and still work. Stairs are a downfall for the Henry XL Plus. Despite the long power cable, the hose isn’t long enough for a whole flight of stairs and it’s too bulky to balance on a step. It’s also heavy to carry up the stairs, although there is a carry handle to make this task easier. The Henry XL Plus weighs in at 10kg, 25% heavier than the original Henry but with nearly 3 times the cleaning capacity at, 15 litres. The Henry XL Plus fares much better on hard floors than carpets, sweeping up hairs and fibres without any hassle. When you buy one of these machines you are buying a product that will stand the test of time. It won’t let you down. It will continue to run even when you can no longer do so. That’s a special thing in a brand. FAQ’s about the Henry Vacuum Range
