For our performance charts, we compared the Inspiron 27 All-in-One to another 27-inch AIO based on a previous-generation mobile Core i7, the Acer Aspire C27, as well as three 24-inch all-in-ones: the business-focused Dell OptiPlex 5490; the low-priced, AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3; and the M1-based Apple iMac. The only conclusion that can be drawn from the two 3DMark tests is that the 12th Gen Core i7's Iris Xe integrated graphics are clearly superior to Intel's older UHD 630 silicon and closer to Nvidia's GeForce MX330 entry-level discrete GPU. None of these systems will satisfy hardcore gamers, but none is intended to. These translate to a big difference in performance. From the Average CPU Mark scores, we are talking 36% gain in performance and 5.2% gain in single thread rating. In essence, the Intel Core i7-12700 is the one to get for maximum performance. If you are more about efficiency then look for either the Intel Core i7-12700T or the ultra efficient mobile processor, the Intel Core i7-1255U which is in by one of the desktop manufacturers below. It only takes 13-15W of power at typical TDP and maxes out at 55W (TDP Up).
Apple has moved to its own M1 silicon on the 24-inch iMac, but the 27-inch model with a 5K screen is still using Intel chips. Although hotter and more power-hungry than its M1 counterpart, the 27-inch iMac is still the best 27-inch all-in-one around -- at least until Apple refreshes the model with its own chip. Thankfully, Dell includes a wireless keyboard and mouse rather than a wired pair that clutters your desk. Both peripherals are white to match the rest of the system. The keyboard is compact and the optical mouse is ambidextrous; both are serviceable if no match for Logitech's or Microsoft's best. I can’t say the same about the keyboard. It uses a rubber dome membrane that creates a squishy, vague key feel. This makes the keyboard uncomfortable to use for long periods, as it’s hard to know how far a key should be pressed to be activated. Performance is just amazing, it blazes through all the tasks we had to do including browsing the Internet, using desktop applications and playing games. Thanks to its processor and graphics card everything you do is fast and responsive. The Infinity display makes every look great too. Another HP, here we have the HP AIO 27 with a smaller HP AIO 24 also available. The utilitarian looking all-in-one desktop brings plenty to the table in terms of specification. Powered again by Intel Core i7-1165G7 it is not short on processing cycles and together with a generous 16GB memory and dual storage solution, its your perfect do it all companion. This is caused by a gap between pixels that’s large enough to be noticeable. The Dell Inspiron 27 suffers a mild version of this issue, so everyone might not see it, but those that do will most likely find it distracting. All Dell Inspiron 27 models have a 1080p display. The base model has a matte, non-touch screen, but the model I tested had a glossy touchscreen upgrade. Choose the operating system you like. Now that you know where it stands in terms of performance, what about its design. Every bit of the HP Paviion 27 screams luxury. With a 27-inch Full HD display surrounded by micro-edge bezels, pop-up web cam and a full width front facing soundbar directly underneath that, it still manages to keep an ultra slim profile. That huge IPS panel also supports touch and reduced blue light for ease of use. Lastly, the entire unit is mounted on a durable aluminium stand finished in satin to round up the whole luxurious feel. Oh, and the audio system is tuned by B&O with a neat tag at the end of the fabric covered soundbar so the system is good for entertainment too. Unfortunately, the Core i7-1255U falls behind in multi-threaded workloads, reaching just 5132 in Geekbench 5’s multi-threaded test. That’s far behind the Acer Aspire TC’s score of 7284, and merely ties the Lenovo Yoga 6, which scored 5105.
Music sounds impressive thanks to the speakers’ bass which, in turn, provides room for the upper and mid-range to express themselves without becoming muddled. Vocals and beats come through at once without one overwhelming the other. It makes a good first impression. The screen looks vivid at first glance and the glossy coat provides a sense of depth and drama that’s hard to replicate on a matte screen. The gloss creates glare, however, so the Inspiron 27 can be difficult to view in a bright, sunlit room. It holds up on closer inspection. The fabric used across the Dell Inspiron 27’s chin feels soft and pleasant. Spin it around and you’ll find a sturdy white matte plastic rear panel with a chrome Dell logo. Most materials are plastic, but the legs are solid metal and feel extremely durable. With 802.11 ax / WiFi 6 technology, you can enjoy a reliable connection from anywhere in the house.

The speakers sound great in dialogue-heavy content such as podcasts or YouTube videos. They provide enough volume to fill a large room with sound and offer the range to handle a variety of vocal styles. As for power, the Envy 32 gets it from the 10th generation Intel Core i7-10700 Octa-Core processor with 16GB system memory and fast 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. This is a true premium offering with no expense spared in its design. Even the pop-up web cam carries a whooping 5MP sensor. That big 27-inch display is again a touchscreen with Full HD resolution. Wrapped in micro-edge bezel on three sides, made possible by concealing the web cam in a pop-up housing, it leaves the bottom bezel for front facing speakers. To keep its costs down, it come with both wired keyboard and wired mouse but it does mean maximum value for your money.
