About this deal

There's a smokiness to it that you find in a lot of masculine fruit scent profiles. I wouldn't wear this in the winter, it'd be annoying. I'm envisioning the wet, rainy version of this scent and it's not good. I think this could be nauseating in the summer. Probably a spring time scent but your mileage may vary. I get a heavy juicy pineapple at top. Then it goes into a spicy mid. I do not know why I get the pepper in the mid not the top (perhaps it merges with the patchouli? The base is heavy with the vanilla, amber, woods (it comes off as sandalwood to my nose) and some benzoin. When I read comments and statements about LY tobacco blaze, and then tested the fragrance, a lot of things seemed wrong to me in retrospect. Just like Qaa'ed smells, that's how I imagined tobacco blaze at the time. But the tb by LaYuqawam is a 90% dupe of Shuhrah. The base has a powdery and spicy vanilla undertone, not sweet or gourmand. A warm amber serves to create a sense of cosiness. The initial burst of balmy skin undertones transforms into a tamed powdery skin. No talcum powder from iris or violet leaves, but a coumarin dustiness. The oud is now just a memory that slowly fades away. I’m surprised nobody has compared this to Cedrat Boise. They have a similar vibe with that fruity opening and the woody dry down. Not exactly the same but they serve the same purpose. As others have mentioned this is a very good scent to layer. I created a concoction of 2 part Qaed, 3 parts Moustache, and 5 parts Terre Hermes. Smells absolutely wonderful. The big pineapple opens really goes well with the earthy Hermes. On its own it’s ok. Nothing ground breaking but good for the price.

Apart from smelling mouth-wateringly and realistically edible, it also has the benefit of being super versatile, fitting most seasons and situations. Plus, it comes in a surprisingly classy bottle, made of a nice dark glass with a golden raised metallic horse design going on, and a lightweight, but magnetic, cap. Raspunde The drydown is a bit different from Elixir but the opening smells exactly like elixir, and with probably my favorite looking bottle in my collection (it's simply beautiful) I don't think I have any cons apart from the drydown being less spicy than elixir. Asad announces its presence with unapologetic sillage, capable of making a statement in any setting. However, it isn't all about strength. The dry-down is where Asad truly sings — a blend of amber and vanilla rounds out the experience, softening the earlier intensity into a creamy, sophisticated finish that lingers pleasantly. sapeur1999 I think the majority here, on social media, and on YouTube all agreed that Dior Sauvage elixir is more refined, has unbelievable performance (though not necessarily needed) and Asad isn't completely an identical scent (could be better)... many seem to prefer Asad due to its balanced combination of decent quality, good performance, and affordable pricing... It's quite clear down in the comments!

The spiciness here can be offputting if you aren't accustomed to it as it is not a typical vanilla forward frag by any means; and it is not distinctly sweet either. Now more importantly, if you try it (and you definitely should) then make sure you try on SKIN and not on a strip. I say this becuase I tested this on strip and I was sold; however, testing today on skin (thankfully still from a sample) it brings out much more spiciness that feels a tad bit cloying in the opening and messy on my skin and turns slightly putrid-spicy on the extreme dry-down. This will obviously not be the case for everyone and it smells great on clothes otherwise. Performance is great, lasts for 6-8 hours on my skin (continues as a faint skin scent after for a longer time) and projects loud for the initial 2-3 hours. BONUS*** elixir is literally like 19 times more expensive (not 19 or 9 or even really 2 times better)OK so I am indeed re-reviewing Lattafa's Asad. Now I still get the overly pineapple smell but honestly, I now get more than it. I am not sure if it was maturation or what but originally, I did not get anything at all similar to Drakkar Noir (which many say Sauvage Elixir smells similarish to) nor do I get Dior Sauvage. Asad isn't a bad fragrance, but I am one of those that gets the sweet pineapple. When I've said this, many question if I got Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan but alas I have this bottle. It does have the gold ribbon/sash that the bottle shows in the main picture. Perhaps this is a batch variation issue? Testing side by side, I notice many differences. Elixir is spicier in the opening, and the drydown is still a little spicy and has the licorice/amber thing going. For me, Elixir is very limited in use and only in cooler/cold weather. SIGHT: The Sun by Edvard Munch. Wheatfield with Reaper and Sun by Vincent Van Gogh. Sunflower New Mexico 1935 by Georgia O'Keeffe. Michelle Williams. Goldie Hawn. Monarch butterfly. Longevity and projection seem to be increasing with maturation. Two spays on my arm before bed time and it's on me 8-10 hours later. Blind and you won’t realize the longevity until you extra spray it on a fabric and leave it in a room for a day and find it to linger around your nose in a good proximity.
